FH & I went to a wedding last night at Atlantica, in Westhampton Beach. I have to say, for the amount of money they charge, we were NOT impressed. The food was sparce, there were 3 stations of DUMPLINGS (chicken, shrimp and vegetable) for the CH with 2 passed foods, I didn't get to see anything but tomato & basil. FH said he's seen more food on a mouse trap than what they offered passed. Staff wasn't friendly at all, the setting is beautiful, if you have a nice day, if not, and you can't use/see the beach, there's no point. It's the same as every other wedding hall on LI. We didn't see the water at all, the CH was under their 'tent' and the entire time it squeeked and sounded as if it were going to come crashing down any second. Dinner was a buffet, that was never announced. We waited 20 minutes on line b/c they kept running out and the staff was slow re-filling the stations. The waitresses came to the table at the beginning of the night to take our drink orders, after that we were faster getting them on our own. FH has been in bed sick all day, he woke up at 3am throwing up and he didn't drink AT ALL b/c he drove.. so that makes me wonder about the food?
I think the bride & groom were on a budget and chose to not have as much food, etc. But, to me I'd rather have it at a less expensive venue then cheap out on things like that =(
The dance floor can fit maybe UP TO 70 people, after that, it's crowded. They sat the bride & groom & bridal party at a long table on ONE side of the room, so unless you were on THAT side you didn't see them...
All in all... I think there are MUCH better options out there for that price, even cheaper! Just my opinion though. HTH anyone out!

Re: Atlantica
when we looked at them the food they offered was minimal so idk if that was due to their budget or just the RH

Re: Atlantica
MINIMAL isn't even the word =( FH had to take a salad from the table that no one was eating b/c the portion barely left a taste in his mouth. It's sad b/c it's a BEAUTFUL ballroom, BEAUTIFUL venue.. The portions are really small.

Re: Atlantica
when we looked...we also noticed that all of the food was 'organic' and we didnt want that...they didnt even give you an option....weird and extremely overpriced..
i think this is great for a heads up for future posts.

Re: Atlantica
My brother was married there and it was just BEAUTIFUL!!
It is more expensive because of the location. You can add plenty of food if you would like to.
I happen to be getting married at Giorgio's where these is an insane amount of food ... but I think a wedding should be measured on a few more things.

And I think anyone who is getting married there should feel confident that they will have an amazing day!!

Re: Atlantica
My cousin's wedding was there and it was one of the best weddings we ever went to food wise. Our food was amazing and we felt like there was plenty.
Maybe it was an off night. I aslo think the dance floor can hold more than 70ppl.
While its expensive, I thought it was well worth the money.

Re: Atlantica
I am getting married there next year, and I have heard nothing but great things about it. You decide what you want served at your cocktail hour. SOme people can't afford all of their options, but it is there choice if they want to have their wedding there over some place else. I don't think it's nice to come on here and write a review like that, when there are plenty of brides on here getting married there. I know we're all entitled to our opinions, but I also think we should be considerate before we post something negative.

Honestly for the most part if the opinion is based on facts and they are not just saying 'THIS PLACE SUX DO NOT GO THERE' with nothing to back it up, then I really feel like ALL reviews should be on here, good or bad. This is not my hall, so obviously it doesn't affect me but if there were negative things said about my RH (or any other vendors) I'd be thankful so I knew what to look out for in the future.
I wish there were more negative reviews on these boards...

Re: Atlantica
My review was just that, my own opinion of 1 event there. FH said he's gone to 2 weddings there, both nice, but small portions.
I would want to know the good and bad as well so I can address the 'bad' issues with the RH to ensure they were not going to happen at my wedding. The review wasn't to bad mouth the place by any means, just stating OUR experience and giving a heads up. I apologize if I offended anyone bc that's not what I was trying to do, but if you search ANY of the RH's you're going to read good and bad from everyone, it happens.

ITA It's important to get opinions. There isn't going to ever be one place that the entire population agrees is the absolute best or absolute worst. Different people, different perspectives, etc.- and I think they are all entitled to have their opinions.

Re: Atlantica
I was married at Atlantica this past July. You can add as much food as you want to the CH. If you get the minimum package you don't get a lot of food at the CH.
This place is definitely not cheap--it's very expensive for what you get, but the food is good. They have tons of food to choose from, and will make anything you want that is not on their menu. They were very accommodating for whatever we wanted.
My sister said at my wedding the waitress couldn't bring them drinks fast enough. Everyone has a different opinion about what they value in a wedding, and I know that there aren't too many other places on Long Island that I could get that view from at a RH. I think at Atlantica you are paying a lot for the scenery- but the food is actually supposed to be very good, not typical RH food. I wouldn't have done it anywhere else.

Re: Atlantica
I am getting married there next year - and as the other girls said they offer tons of packages...
We even sat down with our planner and the owner / chef to (todd) to discuss our menu b/c food is very important to us and we have a very customized menu. He had more than half of our dishes prepared for us to taste, and this was a year and half before the wedding.
Tierra Mar - the rest. inside Atlantica - is known for the quality of the food. He uses local wherever and whenever he can.
FH and I wanted the reception to feel more like a gourmet dining experience than wedding food reception, and I feel like we are getting that at Atlantica.
I didn't look at many other places in LI because i knew I wanted to be on the beach.
Every bride is different just like every wedding is different. Maybe your friends wanted to get married there so badly that they made other sacrafices(such as food), but they got married there for a reason.
Every reveiw is helpful - just have to remember you can't judge a place on one persons review. Something important to them may not be to you.
