they may be 'sharp', however, they royally s*rewed over 1 of the brides on here..and that speaks volumes..imagine having to switch places literally at the last minute bc they told her they would be finished and they werent...

Re: Atlantica at Allegria
They actually 'screwed' 9 brides and my cousin was one of them
Here is a letter that she posted on Trip Advisor. Remember there are always 3 Sides to every story! Be careful how you use the word Screwed!
September 4, 2009
Allegria Hotel & Spa 80 West Broadway Long Beach, NY 11561 Attn: Todd and Jennifer Jacobs c/o Melissa Mufferi
Dear Todd and Jenn,
Approximately three months have passed since our wedding on June 6. Kelly and I never formally expressed our gratitude for your assistance prior to and on our special day.
Kelly and I were initially disappointed when we were informed about the inability to have our wedding at the Allegria. Our feelings of disappointment were subsequently replaced with concern regarding a proper new venue, notification of guests, accommodations for guests, additional costs etc. Our concerns dissipated when we met with both of you and were assured that any and all issues would be addressed on an immediate basis.
Of course, assurances have little meaning unless they are fulfilled by action. You and your staff met and exceeded all of our expectations for the wedding. Despite the fact that the wedding was relocated to a different venue, you and your staff were able to retain a “hands on” approach. Details that I consider as frivolous, but are very important to my wife, were completed exactly as requested. Kelly and I feel that you addressed our situation not from the standpoint of business people but rather as a couple who empathized with our plight. In short, our wedding day was spectacular because of the assistance of you, Melissa Mufferi and the remainder your staff.
We are aware of the challenges you have faced in attempting to open the Allegria. However, we know that you will overcome those challenges because of your character and the values that you will instill with your staff. We wish you the best of luck.
With sincere gratitude,
Drew and Kelly Steigler

im glad your cousins issue was resolved..however it was horrible listening to the ordeal that one of the brides on here had to endure..and then you come on here and post only glowing reviews as your first post-people get suspicious...

i agree. although we should and do want to hear every side of the story and i think most of us understand there is always more than one side, or in your words 3 sides, we heard about someone they 'screwed' and now someone they ended up doing good by but to give us a warning to watch how we use the word screwed is a little much.

Re: Atlantica at Allegria
Hello Ladies! So- I was extremely concerned about what was going to happen to my wedding because of the Atlantica lease problem. I found on Wednesday- Since then I called 7 new venues- Every venue was much moire expense than me and my FH could afford and they werent available on our day, Labor Day 2010. So my FH kept trying to contact the owner of Atlantica either for a refund or to get this resolved. We ended up speeking with ginny jacobs Wednesday night and Friday. By friday she invited us to go and see Allegria. So we did. I was not happy about it because it is so far from my home- but I figured 'what the hell!' We drove out there and when we walked into the hotel I almost fell off my feet. It is spectacular!! A different feel from Atlantica in Westhampton, but absolutely spectacular!!!!!! When we walked up their class stairs to the bar area I couldnt believe how awesome this place was! The staff greeted us as if we were long time friends and immediately got us drinks. when Ginny cme out to see us she was all upset. She started explaining how she has had to call brides and tell them that their 'perfect day' wasnt going to be 'so perfect' all related to politics in West Hampton. Im not defending what happened and I know that many brides got the short end of the stick- but when itcomes down to it, in my opinion, somtimes things are out of our control. There is a higher authority- the board in Westhampton, and for Allegria there was an horrific timing gliche! But for Atlantica itself and Ginny Jacobs- She is doing everything (in my opinion) to correct what has been wronged. Anyways- So she gave us a tour and I couldnt believe this place! GORGEOUS! with Todd Jacobs food! I LOVED IT! Needless to say- Our orignal date (Sept 6) wasnt available there!! Which was a MOnday....(labor day!) ---(which I hated that day anyway..but we go such a good deal I couldnt complain)...So instead...because she wanted to fix what was wronged...she gave us the friday! Sept 3rd, 2010 for the same price..everything in our contract (money wise) stayed the same. All Im trying to say...And IM NOT TRYING TO STIR UP CONTROVERSY PLEASE!!!! I LOVE YOU FELLOW BRIDES I TAKE ALL YOU ADIVSE TO HEART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....Allegria is beautiful, Westhampton is beautiful...but no place is perfect- i guess. No matter where any of us go we may not be happy with things. The important part is that we are marry our soulmates...when it all comes down to it- thats the real purpose of the day. Is to be with your loved ones and celebrate the new beginning of a fantastic life. Idk... this is just my opinions, thats all.

I am not on hear to rave about anything. I just joined the other day to start doing research and I am so tired of all the RUMORS about this place. I totally understand that they ruined someones wedding on here. However all the other people are saying stay clear of this place. Thats not right i can assure you that they did not want to have delays, unfortunately thats the construction business...They did however help a lot of brides SO please don' tjust ASSUME it was all bad!

Re: Atlantica at Allegria
My dads best friend was one of the people screwed by allegria that had no choice but to move to atlantica. they found out it would not be ready less then 3 weeks before the big day i believe. I think the establishment in general is very irresponsible, and i would look for a whole new venue

Re: Atlantica at Allegria
Personally I'd give this place a few years of experience before trusting them with my wedding.... lol unless they were giving some kind of incredible discount and then maybe i'd reconsider :)
I also know someone was was informed 3 weeks before the wedding that the place wasn't going to be ready in time... they didn't realize months earlier that they were completely behind schedule????? It was a ton of scrambling for her last minute and very uncool of the whole operation.
