Re: atlantis in the bahamas...

I just returned from the Bahamas, specifically Atlantis (yesterday in fact)! The passport requirement has been extended for another year for Bahamas travel, but it makes traveling MUCH easier if you have one. My FI asked the people at the airport about the requirement and they said they prefer the passport now. Both my FI and I have ours so we did not experience any delays or extra hassle. It makes sense to get your passport now. If you wait, once the requirment kicks in, it'll take longer for the passport papers to be processed (b/c more people will be applying.)

I'm going to Atlantis tomorrow. My company requested that
we bring our passports cause it makes things easier.

We just got back on sunday from a destination wedding there. My cousin did not have a passport, but he brought his birth certificate, a drivers license and a few other id's with him. They asked to see his birth certificate and drivers license. They said you will need a passport by Jan 1, 2007
