Im thinking of having my wedding reception @ Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead. I see that most reviews are positive, and my fiance and I both love the place but the only thing I can't get past is that the dance area is completely separate from the dinner area. Did anyone else who has had their reception there find this to be a problem as well? if so how was it handled? did your guests find this awkward? Any info (or if possible, pics also) would be appreciated. Thank You!

I have never seen the setup for a wedding...IDK how I would feel about it, but I think David Tutera would love that element of surprise! Do you expect alot of dancing? Can music be heard in dining area too?

one of my bff's brother got married there a few years a go...i didn't attend but she did mention that it was a little awkward for guests. i agree, just think about it - maybe that element of surprise will be cool if its 'you'

I have to admit that when I have been to weddings that separate dinner and dancing--there is much less dancing. Often times people will be sitting in their seats and hear 'their song' and run to the dance floor-- this is very difficult to do when you are in a separate room. On a positive side--there is much more room & it may be suitable for you!

I'm actually getting married there in May and can't wait!! I think the separate rooms are great for those people who want to be able to talk and not scream at eachother to be heard--I was told that my music will be heard in both rooms and that it will be on a lower volume in the dining area...I am also having 5-6 cocktail tables around the dancefloor for those that want to sit down in between dancing... As with any party, regardless of the room-if people want to dance they will and if they don't they won't... good luck!!!

I was just therefor the bridal showcase and they built a whole new room! It is very pretty there. Both my sister and I had our sweet sixteens there. It has changed slot since I had mine but when my sister had hers, the eating in the different rooms was not a problem at all.

My friends were just there over the weekend for a bridal showcase and they said the place was sooo amazing! They didn't know if I booked a place yet and called me from there and told me I had to go check it out...but I already booked my RH. Congrats on your check and you are going to have a great wedding I'm sure!
