Re: Attending a wedding at Watermill tomorrow!
Can you keep an eye out to see if they serve beer in the bottle or give it out in a glass. I don't want anyone walking around with a beer bottle at our wedding. I know it sounds very bridezilla like but it's just one of those little things that irk me!
Definitely post a review in general though!!!
Thanks!

Its funny cause we are opposites, lol! I want beer bottles because being the irish drunk I am, I think beer tastes better out of the bottle. I know thats just my own messed up head, but I notice a difference! I know no one else prob thinks that way, lol!

I hear ya about beer out of a bottle verses in a glass, but I'm over riding my own opinion to be vain!! I just don't like how it looks with people walking around a wedding with a beer bottle in their hands!! Like I said, I know this is very bridezilla of me, but hey, we're entitled to something right??

we had it written in our contract 'no beer bottles--all beer served in glasses'. that way it's our choice. so maureen might not see beer bottles because it's the bride's choice--just tell your BM you don't want glasses.
**************************** have fun at the party mo! wish you'd be in town for longer so i could actually see you

Oh ok! I know we mentioned it when we booked the place but I don't remember if it's in our contract. I will have to double check! Thanks!!

Nah, you're not vain!! It looks nice in glasses, i totally agree!! I think both will be at mine, i'm not sure??!!
I would be happy with glasses at mine as opposed to bottles only if the glasses are decent sized. A wedding i just attended in CT had the beers served in tiny wine glasses. Three sips and it was gone.
Then again, i can drink my beer pretty fast!

UPDATED: Watermill wedding I attended (small review)
We just got back to virginia after traveling to LI for FH's cousins wedding.
For all you Watermill brides...just wanted to say you don't have to worry about one thing!! Aside from the watermill being beautiful (the grounds are gorgeous as well as the rooms), the presentation of everything was so nicely done and organized.
The cocktail hour was my favorite part although the entire night was great. We walked through to the area outside where it was set up. Tons of food, everything just looked incredible..the fruit/cheese/bread displays all were fresh and looked too pretty to eat!! My personal favorite dishes..the eggplant rolatini, the hawaiian chicken and the salmon ( and i rarely eat fish). The marinated steak was good as well. FH said the fried calamari and pork loin were awesome as well (two i didn't have). Everyone was filling their plates with the fried calamari..
I asked one of the waiters if they typically serve bottles or glasses of beer. He said usually 90% of the time bottles unless the couple specifies glasses only, which was the case at this wedding. The ONLY thing i can see bad about glasses only is that it took the bartenders much longer to open and pour out individual glasses of beer as opposed to just handing over a bottle. In the beginning of both the cocktail hour and reception there were lines for drinks but nothing too bad...and it got better as the night went on.
The entrees were good...I had the chicken (it was in a brown sauce) and it came with asparagus and potatoes. Very good. FH had the filet mignon...he said it was ok, a little 'bland'. That was the only somewhat negative thing he had to say but he still ate it and said it was 'good just not great'. At any rate cocktail hour was so much food it seemed like that held everyone over throughout the wedding.
I didn't like the cake all the much only because of the filling she chose (strawberries with bananas). It didn't taste right for some reason ..but thats just me!! The cake looked beautiful, and very rarely is wedding cake amazing anyway. They had a mousse dessert in a chocolate sauce that was incredible!!! I highly recommend it!
One last comment...they chose their appetizer to be the seafood salad (they are big seafood fans). I guess for people who LOVE seafood it was great but many plates were left untouched..it uncluded octopus, mussels, calamari, shrimp and other fish i didn't really know. I hate seafood so you could understand how this woudln't be my choice.
They just did such a wonderful job....we never saw another wedding party or anything, and the staff is so attentive...we had 'jim' as our waiter and he was hysterical and would run to get people drinks as soon as they were less than half full.
Any other questions feel free to ask!! I tried to be as observant as possible :)
One more quick thing..their band was 'paris' and they are awesome!!! They had everyone dancing all night!

I forgot to answer this!
Their centerpieces were high ones, from Burtons and were GORGEOUS. She had ivory roses mixed with hydrangea, calla lillies and baby's breath. They also had a votive to each side of the centerpiece. They really stood out when you walked in the room.

His goal is to reach maitre d' (how the heck do you spell that?) by the time we get to have our wedding there so he can do that for us!!
