Attention all Fashion Gurus, I need your help!

Hello ladies!!!

My husband and I are taking a cruise to Alaska for our 1 year anniversary. I am very excited. We are going on Celebrity, and there are two formal nights for dinner. Here's my question and challenge. If hubby is wearing a tux, and I'm wearing some cute floor-length black dress with spagetti straps, what can I wear to keep me warm so we can go outside to look at glaciers, and shout 'I'm king of the world!' I'm fashion impaired, so photos along with descriptions would be appreciated. Are there dressy button up sweaters, or do I need to look for some sort of shawl? Or is there something else my little mind isn't even aware of?

I would go for a beautiful shawl, or even a nice black pashmina will do.. or a faux fur wrap?

You can find a number of gorgeous wraps in different materials.

I have a velvet one & a wool type one for winter.

If you're interested in wraps, you should give Century 21 a shot. They usually carry a lot.

I buy those $10 fake pashmina shawls and wear them with everything. They are really versatile b/c you can wear it with something really dressy or wrap it around a more casual outfit.

We are thinking of doing the Alaska cruise next year. What made you go with Celebrity?

She lives in Boston so unlike NY they do not have the guys on the street selling the fake ones, that is what I was going to suggest to her Do you want me to send one for you Valenia??

Sonicstef -- Celebrity has a very good reputation -- generally considered the best of the price range for food, good service, and we are on a newer boat, the 'Summit,' which is very well regarded. What really made the decision for us though was that they have an 'Adults Only' cruise. Alaska summer cruises are known for having a good number of kids. On our cruise to Bermuda I found it a bit annoying to be reading, and listening to the waves, and then have 10 kids run by screaming. Or to have the pool filled with kids splashing. Cute as kids are, they just weren't adding to the romantic, quiet, relaxing get away that we were looking for. So, when we saw the possibility to go on a ship to Alaska with only adults, and the timing worked, we were sold.

Shamma -- We leave for the cruise on July 3 so that leave plenty of time.... Something Bostonish, eh? Hmm... Lobster? haha. Baked Beans! Errr. I guess I'll have to keep thinking about that one.

In terms of color, I ask you, oh great fashionable people of LIW, what would make me the mostest smashing? At first, being risk adverse I was thinking black with the black dresses, but perhaps I am not thinking creatively enough. Should I go with a dark red or purple and be wild? I know I prefer darker colors to light, and that I absolutely can not wear yellow -- it makes my whole face look yellow too. Then again, black would be the most flexible...

Only because its reusable, I would say go with black or white or ecru. Trust me when I say that you will find another use for that thing. I bought one a year ago and I have worn it a billion times!

But if you want daring - why dont you coordinate with your husbands tie or something?
