ATTENTION MOMMIES!

I haven't shown MOMMMMMMMM

How do I break the news b4 Sun...

You would think after the implants she wouldn't be shocked..

and WHY DO YOU MOMMIES get so upset at things like that!

Re: ATTENTION MOMMIES!

I'm no Mommy, but I think that you should EXPECT your mother to be upset, that way if she starts crying or screaming or something you will be prepared in advance.

Tell her that you have something to tell her and that she probably will not be happy but it's something that you wanted to do for a long time. If she totally freaks out then you can tell her that it's NOT permanent and that will probably calm her down a bit.

No matter what, your mom will always look at you as if you are still her little girl (and in essence, you always will be!). Things that she is unfamiliar with or thinks might be dangerous will always make her upset. Try comforting her by assuring that what you did is safe and that you will be fine no matter what. Then hug her and kiss her lots!!!

Not really sure I can guide you on this one, T, since I do not know your Mom personally. Although, I'm guessing from the fact that your Mom does not know about your lips already, that you are not very close with her?
So, my question to you is - do you really think it's necessary to tell her? Are you afraid she'll flip out during the party? What was her reaction to the implants? What if you just went over to see her tomorrow or something? Or you could just call her and say, Mom, I just wanted to tell you XYZ about my lips.

And, I really cannot answer the last question either. If you can wait about 17 years, I'll let you know when Paul comes home w/some type of piercing or tattoo (God forbid!)

But, in general, I think that Moms tend to get a little crazy over things like this b/c as Moms, you believe with all your heart and soul that your child - no matter how old and independent they might be - is beautiful and perfect just the way God made you and you do not need any cosmetic changes to be accepted in the world.

Just tell her that you hit into a wall and now your lips are all blown-up

No, really just go there and say Hi. I am sure she will be fine after saying 'What the heck did you do that for' Whats done is done and there is nothing you can do now anyway.

P.S. Can Ron deliver dinner out to exit 62

Your Mom will love you unconditionally no matter what. I am sure she will think you are just as, if not more beautiful with them

Re: ATTENTION MOMMIES!

Theresa, I am a Mom and I can answer your question. I think that moms like to think that their children are perfect just as they are. I am sure that your mom is proud of you and loves you for yourself, so she sees no reason for you to change what nature gave you because she thinks it's perfect.

I laughed when I read your post because I can relate to your mom. My daughter has 9 tattoos and more piercings than I can count. Every time she gets another tattoo she tries to hide it from me. It truly doesn't matter to me because I love her no matter what, but I have to shake my head and ask her if she has lost her mind. I wouldn't be a mom if I didn't. To be honest I have gotten used to them and really don't care but no way would I let her off easy .

Good luck. I bet your Mom will love them!

Wendy took my answer!

Exactly! Your Mom thinks you are perfect just as you are and that you need no enhancement whatsoever. You probably don't need it but if it makes you feel good, it's your prerogative as an adult. But that's most likely where Mom is coming from.
