Attention North Ritz Brides

Attention North Ritz Brides

Not sure if you ladies know this yet, but they made a few renovations which look awesome!!

In the front of the building they extended the awning to make it more of a carport so that when someone pulls up to the valet and it is raining no one gets wet.

They also added some sort of heater (which you can see when you are standing in front of the main entrance and are looking up at the awning) so that when your guests go out to smoke they will be warm. Doesn't affect me much since wedding is in June.

In the main reception room they switched the location of the band/dj area to be directly across from where the bride & groom sit.

and FINALLY.....

Surrounding the pond area with the big fountain they added big rocks and planted a few more trees.

Not major changes, but it is so exciting when you see a place that actually spends money to improve their look (even when they really didn't need to)!!!

I saw the overhang you are talking about. I think it's great because God forbid it rains, we'll be covered. I haven't seen the changes on the inside, but we're planning to drop our next payment off in person so we can see them. I can't wait!

I saw the changes a couple of weeks ago and am sooo excited
I especially like that they moved the DJ/Band and extended out a little so it looks like there will be more room in the ballroom. I was originally nervous that it was going to be tight but it looks really good now.
YAY!

i dropped it off yesterday and that is when our BM showed me.

She also told me the next tasting is the end of June. Did anyone go for that yet?

Thanks for the info! I saw the renovations in the beginning stages. As for a tasting, I was told I couldn't have one. Are they offering them to all of you guys?

I was concerned too when we first booked it because we are inviting about 300 - 340 ppl, but anticipating about 250. We will definitely be using the oval tables and not the round..lol

This renovation has added a bunch more tables. Yayyy!!

Ida, who I think is great so far. She told me that because we had been to a wedding there before, they wouldn't offer that to us. But if the rest of you are getting a tasting, I don't see why we shouldn't be entitled to one considering our wedding is almost 3 years after the one we went to.

I don't know if maybe their policy is different for 2007 or whatever, but I had a tasting. They don't do them before you book, usually about 2 months before your wedding. I think they normally do them in groups, ie all of the brides getting married in August will go to this one in June or something, but FH and I got our own private tasting because we're having a special menu with none of the regular entree choices. Call and talk to your BM to clarify.

ETA: I just saw that Ida's your BM. She's ours, too, and she's been wonderful to us. Tell her what you just wrote. Say that the wedding you went to was so long ago and that you'd like to try some of the other options to make sure you get exactly what you want. Hopefully she'll be able to accomodate you a few months before your wedding. There's no reason you shouldn't get a tasting.

When I asked about a tasting, someone (sorry I don't remember who told me) said to just ask Ida when the next tasting is. I personally have never been there for a party but my FI has so I'll definitely be going to a tasting in the near future.
I have 350+ on my guestlist and am trying really hard to bring that number down...I'm hoping to have no more than 300 people at the wedding and am definitely using the oval tables.

You should definitely be able to go for a tasting. I am getting married in 2007 so their policy definitely did not change. You should call them and ask them.

I agree with this. I have never been there before for an event, so I'm not sure if that is why they told me I could attend. I have a different BM than you do, but that shouldn't matter.

I am sure if you call them they will accomodate you.

Good luck!

I am getting married in 07 and we had a tasting. We ended up doing it super early, but all you have to do is call them to schedule one.

What is the tasting like (i.e., do they start w/ appetizers through dessert, including wedding cake)? How many people were there when you went? Did they have entertainment?

Sorry if that seems silly, but I'm not sure what to expect.
