Are any of you VYC girls aware of another wedding going on at the same time?? Have you been to a wedding there while another was taking place or did you already have your wedding and another was taking place?? I just found out that I am not the only wedding anymore and Im nervous!!!!

I just went to a wedding there last month and there was another going on. We were upstairs and had no idea there was another downstairs at all. We ran into a few people outside throughout the night but that was all. I wouldn't worry about it. BTW everything was great!

Hi Ladies! I just signed up on here to ask some questions about VYC... I live in California and am planning my LI wedding from here --- my fiance and I have been dreaming up a southern california beach wedding and are considering moving it to the VYC since I grew up on Long Island and my entire family and elderly grandparents are still there and wouldn't be able to travel to California...
I don't know if this is even possible, but what do you think (or has anyone seen it done) about a wedding ceremony on Fire Island, such as Kismet at Surf's Out for ceremony only, and then reception at VYC?
I have a temporary hold on a date for next summer at VYC ... I also forgot to ask what TIME the reception starts for an evening reception!
Any information would be greatly helpful :)

I attended a wedding at the Fire Island lighthouse last summer and it was really nice! It was so different, which is a huge plus in my book. They set up chairs at the base of the lighthouse facing the Great South Bay. The reception was at the Venetian, and it was wonderful. It was a little odd when we were on the deck and the people from the upstairs room were out there with us.... but the food and atmosphere were wonderful!

haha, thank you!! :) yeah that is strange that the two parties kinda mix... do you think it's better to have the upstairs room then? hmmm I'm trying to plan this from California too, it's tough!

Honestly, both rooms are GORGEOUS. I had my cocktail hour downstairs and a lot of my guests thought it was the DINNER.
