so i called this particular travel agent (who i wont name, but you know if you are using him) and we talked for like an hour...he was going away for a week and said he would email me when he got back with some ideas...so i emailed him on monday like w t f? and he was like oh sorry i didnt get back to you, do you have any ideas?? im like (in my head, you were supposed to get the ideas!) we want to go to aruba, there is like only 2 all inclusives we want to go to, there is like no work for him....he sent me a short email back on monday, and i replied promptly and i havent heard anything back...is this typical behavior of this particular travel agent??? i could have gone to liberty travel, and booked the freaking thing, but i liked the idea of going through american express...what should i do????

if it is who I am thinking.....it can be typical behavior if he is in a traveling time. I had this problem with him with timing because he was traveling then on a family vacation so the response time was not what everyone else had said was so great. I still booked through him and am fine with the service. WHen he is not traveling then everything is quick response

That is ridiculously strange for him. Honestly, if you voice your complaints with him I'm sure you will see an immediate turn around in his response. I'm really shocked!

WOW, I am actually surprised. I did not get that from him at all. I would definitely say something to him. Like someone said, maybe he is traveling and does not have access to email very often, but even so, it is not a good excuse. If he is very busy this week, he should set up a time next week to give you his full attention. I would still hear him out and get his pricing, even if you decide not to go with him, just so you know you did your research. Good luck!!!!!

I think I know who you are talking about and I sent him an email days ago about booking our HM. Basically said what we wanted, how long we wanted to stay and where we wanted to go, like you said absolutely no work for him to have to do on his part, just give me a price and I have yet to hear back. We kinda want to get the HM squared away so I don't have time for that, I've already contacted someone else whom a coworker recommended.

oh and not to mention, you can set you're email to automatically respond with a msg saying you're on vacation when anyone emails you so if he is away he should at least put up an away msg so that people don't think he just can't be bothered!

I think I know who you are talking about as well...I spoke to him on the phone once and he was suppose to call me back on a Thursday night and to this day...He never called me! I booked with Liberty Travel and is soo happy with them.

You can go through American Express w/out using this particular agent. I highly recommend going through American Express though! I found that my responses were quick but FH said this TA didn't want to talk when we brought up some options that he wasn't interested in (a cruise, maybe).

If it is who I think.. we totally didnt click and I got better prices from Dawn Dorr cruise one. She is a vendor on here and she doesn't only do cruises.
