Attn Catholic ladies:is there a Pre Cana... express?

Attn Catholic ladies:is there a Pre Cana... express?

My intention is not to offend anyone but, has anyone found Pre Canna classes that last only one weekend?
My wedding is back on the island but I live in PA. Taking Pre Cana here requires that I room overnight with other ladies in the class and vice-versa for my fiance. Sharing a room with strangers is not my kind of thing or his for that matter. I would be happy to travel back home for a weekend and stay with my parents.
My fiance's schedule does not permit to take the weekly classes.
Any suggestions?

They have one day classes as well. These days you have a few choices...we're doing the 1 day (6 hour class)...

Yes, the Rockville Center diocese offers a weekend pre-cana. Its $250. We just went and there were 30 couples there.

One Saturday! Where was it? How do I get in touch with them?

How far in advance did you have to sign up? Was it difficult to get into the classes?
Thank you ladies! People in PA tend to drag things out. I knew that the New Yorkers would understand a tight schedule.

I did mine through RVC Diocese - they offer Saturday & Sunday (9AM-4PM) or two Sundays in a row - we did the latter.

I think there are 3 types:

-weekend PreCana
-Saturday (all day)
-1 a week (for 6 weeks)

we did an express pre cana out in Long Beach - St. Mary of the Isle. It lasted around 5 hours or so - with a pizza break. They are listed on the internet - you can find them on google.

Call them and leave a message with Deacon John - it's $50.

Our church is in Queens, so we worked out of the Diocess of Brooklyn. They also had the weekend 1 day Precana class. I guess it all depends on your church.

WE also did a one-day Pre-Cana, but it was mainly just parishoners or people getting married at our church. Ours was also only $80. call the church where you are getting married and ask if you can do a one day class somewhere since you are from out of town.

Our Lady of Lourdes in Massapequa. I just signed up myself. It's one day, Saturday, and it's FREE!!! My friend did it and said it's definately the best way to go. Anybody from any parish can go.

We did pre-cana through the diocese in NY. 1 day for 150 dollars.
you were supposed to be there from 10 to 4 but they let us go at 2. There were also over 100 couples there and no attendance was taken so we could of showed up at the end to get our certificate.

St. Patrick's RC Church in Bay Shore does it in one weekend. This is our church.

Speak to Deacon Frank Keach.

Hey, where was your pre-Cana? One day 6 hours or less sounds perfect for us!

We did ours basically online with several readings and one evening meeting with a facilitator. Completely no stress. Just look under your diocese for pre-cana. Also, our church allowed us to get it anywhere as long as you get the certificate. Check other diocese if you can't find what you want where you are getting married. Check with your church to make sure they have the same policy.
