Attn: Crystal Swan & Rick & Co brides

I am a usual poster, but for several reasons I am posting under a different name.

I am posting on behalf of my friend. She got married several months ago at the Crystal Swan. It was an all inclusive catering hall. Her videography was included in the amount she paid to Crystal Swan. Now she found out that supposedly according the Rick and Co's videographer that Crystal Swan is no longer in operation and they never paid her videographer. Her videographer told her that if she does not give him $1500 (that she does not have) that she will NEVER see her video. I am so upset for her. I would like to say that I think it stinks that in good faith her videographer isnt just offering her her video knowing the situation or at least working with her on a good price. Their service was nothing to rave about on her day so why should I be surprised. Again, if what they are saying is true, that the money she paid to Crystal Swan was never given to her videographer, I am disgraced that they expect her to pay again.

Does your friend have a contract with the videographer, or is it a contract with the Crystal Swan which requires CS to pay the videographer? If she signed a contract which stated the price of the video and it was not paid (regardless of who was supposed to pay it) she is responsible and can only go after CS to recoup her losses. Bottom line - it all depends on the contract.

I'm sorry your friend is going through this. It's a crappy situation and I'm sure she's very upset.

Oh...I left that part out. Rick and Co told her that she has to sue Crystal Swan to get her money back for the video and then when they are paid that money she will have her video. According to them, the guy at Crystal Swan can not be reached.
