we didnt have a cesspool inspection. Maybe you can ask your house inpector if he/she recommends anyone.
I never heard of a cesspool inspection. What do they do...dig up the cover and look to see if its full/in good shape/has calasped?

speaking of cesspools... we have one in our new house- its a giant pain in the a s s. its not working properly (which is why an inspection is important) & needs to be pumped every few weeks costing us hundreds of dollars. luckily, the sellers gave us quite a large sum of money to pay for the installation of a new septic system. cesspools are now illegally to put in homes. i can't wait til they put that thing in!
sorry, just venting...

call a septic company- they'll check it out for you, tell you the condition & if it needs to be replaced. make sure you get this done immediately, because most cesspools are very very old (ours was over 50) & need to be pumped/replaced.

is this for a new house that you're considering buying?

Wow, thanks spel.

The house is about 40 years old and before closing they need a cesspool certification that didn't come with the regular engineering report.

Are you sure because we got one and we used the same company. Call them, maybe they forgot to send it. Look at your green book and see if Mitch inspected it

I did not do a cesspool inspection on the house we're buying but it sounds like a great idea and I should look into it. FM me the company you decide on.

I remember at my old job we used Lange Sewer Service to take care of the cesspools - may want to give them a ring.

Also, I have a recommendation for a termite inspection if you need.

Michelle- I looked at the green binder today and under Owner Questioanire it says cesspool but it was blank b/c the home is vacant

Hey ms. lorimari- Ahhh, the headaches of home buying with wedding planning. I already had the termite inspection now my lawyer needs a cesspool inspection before closing. I will call a few places I got recommended to and let you know how it goes.
