My FH is Irish (mostly) and I would like to incorporate some of his heritage into the wedding. I am doing traditional Italian favors - Jordan Almonds, of course, for my side. Can any of you tell me what might be a traditional Irish weding favor? I was thinking of mini bottles of Bailey's or Jameson.

I am 100% Irish, and we would like to incorporate a bit of Irish culture into our wedding as well.
Some ideas:
Make-up bells: The chime of bells is thought to keep evil spirits away, restore harmony, and remind a couple of their wedding vows. You could hand out tiny bells to the guests which they could ring as they leave the church or at the reception in lieu of clinking glasses.
You may want to incorporate the trinity/eternity knot or claddagh symbol (love, loyalty and friendhip) into you wedding somehow. There are lots of ways to do this!
You could also have mini shamrock plants or lucky horseshoes as favors as well.
Congratulations on finding yourself a fine Irishman! Haha!

well I'm irish and FH is italian, FH wanted something from my heritage and I wanted something from his ... so I'm wearing an italian horn on my garter, and he is wearing claddagh cuff links ... he doesn't know yet, but theres going to be a 4 leaf clover in his bout., i found it when i was a kid and always kept it and i want him to have it because he is my dream come true

People kinda all ready posted on this but figured to touch on my feelings of things.
Bells are a good thing at a irish wedding ( I am not doing this because FH says if he hears a bell he would kill someone IoI)
I like the james or baileys but some people get ticked off like oh is that all you think of irish people - drunks. Not true irishmen/woman celebrate through song and drink. Nothing to be ashamed of. SO if you really like it do it!
Music - as i said music is truly important. Maybe play one song during the dinner as spot light or even just a rowdy old irish drinking song for the end of the evening.
Wedding cake charms - this was a english thing but the northern irish did it also. They have them at orient trading...and one charm is a shamrock. Bridesmaids pull it from the cake and it tells a fortune.

Yeah, I really like the music idea. Can you suggest a fun song for the end of the night?

FFIL will be reading an old Irish marriage blessing during the ceremony. We will also def. be playing Wild Rover towards the end of the reception and some other old rowdy Irish drinking songs.
