Attn Jewish Brides

Does anyone have a program from their wedding I can see as a sample? This would be so helpful!

Thanks so much!!

Also...what did you do for a wedding ring? stones or no stones?

Thanks!

I don't have a physical program but I am working on mine right now to send to my designer...it's only the info and explanations of the customs.

Also, my band has stones halfway around, but I am having an interfaith wedding.

you're supposed to get married with a plain gold ring (no stones, no design, no nuthin!) ... BUT, right after the ceremony, you can put on anything you want.

FH and I will be using his great grandmother's ring (which is 2 sizes too small but whatever, it'll be on me for 5 minutes) ... i have no idea what ring we'll be using for him yet ...

Our rabbi told us NO STONES.. Therefore I'm probably going to get a simple silver wedding band for the ceremony..and then change to my beautiful bands after

in a jewish ceremony, you cant have stones in the ring. lots of people use the ring in the ceremony as their something borrowed.

re: the ring, totally depends on the rabbi. our rabbi is reform, and is completely ok with me getting married in an eternity band. in fact, he pulled out a book of jewish wedding rings from the 1800's and they were very ornate, with jewels, etchings, cuts, etc.

so, check with your rabbi about the ring.

My rabbi told us no stones but he said ingraving on the inside is fine .. we ordered plain white gold bands for the ceremony and then I will be changing into my beautiful ring for the reception!

I asked the rabbi and he said stones were fine with him. However, I do like the idea that one of you mentioned to borrow one from someone for the ceremony and change to the other after. I may look into that.

I bought a really simple white gold band with little engraving on the inside for the cermony and a fancy band to change into for the reception.
