ATTN SWAN CLUB BRIDES- MY REVIEW AS A GUEST!!! VERY LONG WITH PICS!
Before I write this I just want to say that I hope no one takes offense to some things that are JUST MY OPINION I am including them b/c if people happen to agree with me than they will be able to correct the few minor details I was not crazy about. Also I am including whatever other vendors I saw or heard they used not just Swan Club.
Ok let’s start with the most important one-SWAN CLUB
The grounds were amazing. Everything was kept so beautifully. The cocktail hour was held in the covered terrace room (don’t know if there is a name for it) and it was very nice. They had about 180 people and if I am not mistaken it didn’t seem like there was enough tables for everyone but since people usually come to the cocktail hour at different times (some come exactly at the start others come a few minutes in to it) it was more than fine we were there early so we ate and then when we saw people looking for a table we got up and took advantage of the beautiful grounds so it was fine.
Now again it is my opinion... I insisted on getting married at hall that had only one wedding at a time. And I went to wedding after my hall was booked that had three or four weddings and I was so happy about my decision b/c this other hall (if you want the info FM me) did a terrible job of having all those people organized. HOWEVER Swan Club to me did an excellent job at organizing all the people. We walked out of the cocktail hour and passed people at a cocktail hour who were outside but under a tent and it wasn’t odd or awkward at all. Again much better than the other hall I went to. Now that other friends wedding the bride was very upset b/c that hall had told her you will not be seeing any other brides we make sure of it and I know for fact they did not do that at the other hall. I cant say if at Swan Club they MAKE SURE YOU CANT SEE THE OTHER BRIDE but I will say that yesterdays bride didn’t seem to be the type who would care unlike the other wedding I went to where that was the brides big concern. So my point after that long explanation is… If you care about seeing the other brides I would look in to it. Personally I dont see the big deal but some girls do. And as far as your guest seeing guests from another wedding it was fine.
The cocktail hour had a nice set up they had one big table with some food at one end and then another table at the other far end and a bar in between so most people like us got some food at one sat down ate and then went for the second round at the other station.
I tried to remember what they had. I had only a few things b/c my stomach was hurting but my Dh had a little of everything ( I told him I have a lot of SC brides depending on me for a review EAT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN LOL).So he had Beef Stroganoff( ok not great he said) Sausage and Peppers ( good) Chicken Rollitini( I had this too, VERY GOOD) Penne in a cream sauce( VERY GOOD) Eggplant Rolitini or parmagiana ( VERY GOOD) Penne with Shrimp( GOOD) They had a really nice assortment of fruits and cheese as well. The passed foods were all good according to Dh. Baked clams pigs in the blanket, potato pancakes. Also one carving station of Ham and DH said it was very good.
The reception part was good too. I would say one word of advice is that they serve beer in very small bottles so instead of us constantly getting up (it’s not the reg size you get in a bar) we asked the waitress to bring us over a bucket of beers and that was great. So there was constantly beer on the tables and two bottles of wine as well. The appetizer was the same Penne in cream sauce form the cocktail hour which was good. Then a salad and the three entrees were .Prime Rib (Everyone said was very good) Chicken Cordon Bleu (I had it and it was good) and some fish I think Salmon but no one at my table had that. They were all served with potatoes which were good and some veggies. Now my only complaint was that the flow of the service was not great. To me I guess b/c it was a hot appetizer it was a pretty long wait for that and then salad came pretty soon after. Then dinner was served in a good time. Then later they had the cutting of the cake and served ice cream and then it seemed like forever for the actual cake. I really don’t know why so many girls had concerns about the cake. It was DELICIOUS it was canoli cream filling! YUMMY and I don’t even like cake usually. So no worries there girls!
That is about it for the hall overall it was a really nice wedding and if I wasn’t paying attention to every detail I probably wouldn’t have noticed all those minor things I mentioned such as the wait for cake and the amount of chairs in the cocktail hour room. Overall I would say out of 10 I would give it a 9.
If anyone wants info on the DJ they used it was IN THE MIX- FM me and I will give you review of that as well. I don’t want to bore you girls anymore.
One last thing is I know she used Burtons for flowers and theye were really nice.
Here are some PICS!!
