I don't think I would want to go to an inaugural ball. Could you imagine the security. You probably can't even bring lipstick!

Holy crap! I'm glad I don't work in D.C. anymore! I used to work right down the block from the White House and also down the block from the Capitol.
I think all the government people stayed home today (and wisely so) because the traffic was light driving towards D.C. this morning.

I'm with you-- wouldn't want to go anywhere without lipstick. .. but ooh, the sparkly dresses. . .
I went to Clinton's first Innauguration, just the outdoor open to the public part--not the fancy stuff.

the security is so tight it is crazy. The lawyer I work for is there right now. He got passes and lists of what he could/could not bring and about the security measures they'd have to go through upon arrival.
Nobody who isn't supposed to be there can go there. He can't even bring his wife. His invitation for for himself only he needed various identification and keep his pass with him at all times.
I am home 'sick' today and I have been watching it on TV there is a crazy amount of securtiy including 'the presidents own' the USMC all over the place.
Yea I am prejudice to the USMC over the other brancehs because FH is a Marine so with men as good as him there, there are no worries ;)

i have a friend who has a fam membership to the TX state society so he gets 2 tix to black tie and boots (last night). he sold 2 of them on ebay, they are $125 each and he sold them for over 1k!!
we just got home from teh suntrust bank cocktail party and parade viewing. it was fun :)
DC is SO weird though today. FH had off beacus ehe works across from the capitol but i worked 1/2 day.
it felt so weird to be walking in the MIDDLE of the streets and i thnk they ran out of cones and road blocks beause they started using BUSES!
