anyone have an aufruf at their temple before their wedding.
Its when you get called to the torah for good luck upon your wedding.
I am having one and it is turning into a HUGE drama. The caterer at my temple is charging an arm and leg, over 800 dollars, for a bagel luncheon after services.

can you have it on a friday night and then just sponsor the oneg? it's much less expensive to do that than a luncheon. this is what we did.

This is what we are doing. I have 2 friends that are doing it Saturday morning and they are doing a luncheon at an outside place after the service. It was way cheaper then having the Temple cater the luncheon.

we looked in to it but its 400 to the temple just to have the aufruf, plus we have 4 extremely Jewish grandparents coming whom I dont think would understand going some where else.

we are having it on a friday night and helping sponsor the oneg. Not making a huge deal..just local family.
