August Bride Checklist

Hello August Brides! I'm wondering where you are on your checklist? Trying to get together my last few checks for the end of last year/beginning of this year lol

*EDIT* so I could add my current checklist

-order BM dresses (they've already been fitted and selected)
-book limos
-send Save the Dates
-shop for wedding bands

I'm also meeting with my florist again now that I have a sample of my centerpiece. I'm starting to think about Bridal Shower, invites and just getting all my decorations bought and under way.

August Bride Checklist - Long Island Weddings

Well, definitely the big vendors are done: venue, DJ, florist, officiant, photographer/videographer, invitations, my dress, BM dresses.

We've just decided on our tuxedo place, we're doing our cake tasting next week, and I want to have our limo company set by the end of the month. Oh, and I've booked my make up artist, and have a hair trial at the end of January.

yes we won't be doing tuxes until April and I was going to hold off on cake and desserts until next month.

To Do: Florist!!!!, Hair Stylist for Day of!, guy's suits (already decided on style), rehearsal dinner

Checks:

- Budget finalized
- Guest List finalized
- Asked Bridal Party
- Hair and Makeup trials done and booked
- My dress, veil and headpiece
- Hanger for my dress
- Tasting at venue
- Engagement Shoot done, Save the Dates sent (December)
- Purchased my wedding ring
- Started buying reception decor items (cocktail napkins and matches, channa plaque, champagne flutes, picture frames, table number frames, Indian candles)
- Decided on wedding favors
- FOCCUS at church completed
- Hotel block done
- Registries completed,
- Bridal shower booked
- Rehearsal dinner booked.
- Decided on first dance song, father- daughter dance, mother- son dance songs.
- (Not doing limos or a photo booth; no flower girl or ring bearer)

To- Do List:

January:
- Order bridesmaid dresses (decided on style and fittings, just have to officially order them).
- Finalize invitations (have appointments setup, and have a good idea of what we want)
- Finalize honeymoon booking (decided on location, have to book flights and hotel)
- Purchase DIY supplies for card box

February:
- Pre Cana at church
- Finalize Church music
- Finalize readings and officially ask readers
- Provide hair person final number of girls
- Purchase FH's wedding band
- Finish DIY table numbers
- Complete DIY card box
- Start purchasing bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts, parent and reader gifts

March:
- Start looking for tuxes for FH and groomsmen and finalize
- Purchase my shoes
- Purchase undergarments
- (Parents gifting me my DOJ)
- Bridal party entrance song, intro song, cake cutting song
- Decide on signature drinks
- Decide on guestbook and order
- DIY signs (guestbook, bathroom basket)

April:
- Order grooms cake
- Purchase FHs shoes
- Finalize menu choices with venue
- Finalize linens with venue
- Do cake tasting, finalize cake design and fillings
- Order/ DIY menu
- Order favor tags
- Design and order Church programs
- Purchase supplies for bathroom basket
- Finish buying items for reception décor (frames for pictures, signs)
- Schedule fittings
- Officially place order for favors
- Finalize cake topper

May:
- Dance lessons
- Pickup veil from Barrons
- Complete bathroom baskets
- Finalize bridal party, parent gifts
- Finalize centerpieces with florist
- Decide on must have songs, do not play list, etc.
- Shop for bridal shower and bachelorette party dresses

June:
- Start must have list for photographer
- Complete and send forms to DJ
- Send out invitations
- Finalize shuttle for hotel guests
- Purchase supplies for OOT bags
- Purchase garter
- Purchase FHs day of gift
- Start shopping for honeymoon!

July:
- Track down missing RSVPs
- Order escort cards
- Seating chart
- Floor plan
- Tip envelopes
- Complete OOT bags
- Marriage license!
- Finalize day of timeline
- Check-in with all the vendors, update them with day of schedule

August:
- Schedule Spa treatments: Haircut, teeth whitening, facial, mani-pedi
- Prepare reception décor box with instructions for venue

Thanks! We were considering limos but that just wasn't in our budget. We'll probably have our best man drive FH and my parents and I will ride with FMIL. There will be a shuttle taking us and the OOT guests from the reception hall to the hotel at the end of the night (we're staying overnight at the same hotel as our guests).

Sorry to hear about your photographer. And don't get nervous, you still have time! Get the main things out of the way, like photographer, videographer (if you're having one), DJ and florist. I made a month by month checklist, and that really helped me keep track of things.

Sorry to hear about your photographer. And don't get nervous, you still have time! Get the main things out of the way, like photographer, videographer (if you're having one), DJ and florist. I made a month by month checklist, and that really helped me keep track of things.

Ok, these amazing lists you all posted made me get my butt in gear with planning! So, in the past couple of days I've FINALLY booked our hotel room for our wedding (I'm such a procrastinator!) and I booked an appointment with Black Dahlia florist. That is my last major vendor.

Last night I was cruising Etsy and purchased dress hangers for myself and for my Matron of Honor (my sister) and Bridesmaid (FH's sister).

Next on my list is purchasing our wedding rings.
