August Bride feeling so behind...

My wedding is in August...

and I don't even have my major vendors booked yet.

I haven't even tried on a single wedding dress yet. I rushed to make my first appointment on Friday to look at gowns because I was told by many places/people that I am behind on buying a dress and I might have to pay steep fees to rush order a dress. Who knew it took so long? I don't want to feel rushed into purchasing a dress though because in the wedding world 6-7 months is too little time...

and I still have not met with any florists or photographers.

I have not booked musicians and i have not yet met/discussed the ceremony with my officiant.

I hate signing in on the knot.com and seeing all the ticking alarm clocks showing me how behind I am!! I feel like I won't be able to book everything until at LEAST march. (around the 5 month mark??)

Am I in big trouble?

Nope. I'm August and just started doing all those things. Start researching and setting appts now, but don't feel rushed! I still need a DJ, and havent even looked/thought about flowers! I just booked photo/video and just got a dress. You'll be fine. Just try to call/research/set up appts!

you still have time. don't stress too much, that will not help with any of the planning process!

i suggest figuring out what you want (style/theme) first to help narrow down your options. i had a lot of time to plan but i lost those months in planning because i couldn't figure out what i wanted.

You will be fine. Start doing research on all your major vendors. Do enough research that you narrow it down to 1 or 2 for each vendor. Then try to schdule an appointment every week. If you can stick to this plan you can have everyone booked quickly.

ETA: Try and book the same videographer/ photographer if you can. That will save you time in looking for a seprate videographer. You could also consider booking everything at a wedding plaza. That way, you get everything out of the way in one try.

There's plenty of time. Don't worry about others' timelines and just take it one step at a time with your planning.

I think you do have a little time. However, you are also running the risk of not getting your first choice in vendors bc it is very possible they are booked.

I would start making some appointments and seeing who is available. Luckily August isn't a super busy month in terms of weddings
