August girls: invite questions

Do you have your invites yet?

when are you sending them out?

ours are in, RSVP cards are numbered, envelopes are stamped, but they are not stuffed yet.

We're going to send them out mid-May... a little early, but some OOT guests didnt get STDs and we want to give people extra notice since it's a Sunday. and... bc I can't wait!!!

I cant believe invites are going out so soon!!!

Ours are picked out. I'm still waiting on the proof..then we will order. RSVP date is July 5 so I think I'll try to get them out by June 1st. Or should it be a week earlier....how long do you give them like 5 weeks?

I didn't order my invites yet....I plan on sending it out the end of May.....beginning of June.......RSVP date is July 1, 2008. Time is flying

We have our invites! I haven't started stuffing them yet, though. I just finished making the clear address labels and the church direction cards. I am still waiting to get the direction cards to our RH in the mail and then I can start stuffing! I am planning to mail them out the first week of June I think. YAY!

we are giving people longer because we have OOTers and not everyone received an STD. People make weekend plans really far in advance in the summer so we want to give lots of notice.

we are giving appx 8 weeks before the RSVP date

MIne are being addressed as we speak!! I am sending out in May too!! I have lots of OOT peeps too plus like you I can't wait either!! lol

I have my invites, they are in the process of being addresses( about 1/2 done), and I am sending them out May 26. My RSVP date is July 9 so that gives them 6 weeks to respond and 4 weeks before the wedding. I need a final count 2 weeks before so I wanted extra time to call all those who don't respond and find out if they plan on coming.

My RSVP date is exactly one month before. I was going to send them out one month before the RSVP due date, but Fh's parents want it earlier for their OOT guests.

Can we do a staggered mailing out or should we just do it all at once?

Ok so I see most of you are mailing yours in May - is the reason for that just b/c it's summer and people make plans, go on vacations, etc? We didn't send out STD's at ALL, so do you think we should send our invitations out in May, too? I need to get my butt in gear then LOL!

my mom sells invites and always tells clients to send them out ~ 3 months before the wedding, especially if its a non-Saturday, a popular travel time, a holiday weekend, or if there are a lot of OOTers.

I'm going with that bc I'm dying to send them out and the wait is killing me!

mine are in...we are sending them out at the end of may....we have to get them addressed-and then stamped....first we have to cut our guest list down

Thank you for that! I definitely need to move my tushy!!! My FMIL needs to get me their darn guest list already!!!

The main reason I am sending them out earlier is so it reduces the stress on me. Gives people plenty of time to respond and if they don't which I am sure many people(expecially on DF's side) will not return the response card, I have plenty of time to contact them and find out if they will or will not attend. Also I can send out invites to my b-list with enough time for them to respond as well.

No we don't have our invites yet, but we've picked them out.

Our RSVP date is July 31 and we plan on sending them out mid June.

We're not too worried about people making summer plans b/c we sent out STD's and most of the OOT's have already bought their tickets...

But def send yours out! If I had mine they'd be out in May as well

Our invites are ordered, should be in by Friday. RSVP date is July 19th, so I think we'll send them out Mid to Late May...we sent out STDs and don't have many OOTs that need to take a plane...

keep in mind postage goes up may 12th!

our invites cost 97c to send and we ended up getting $1 stamps. the cost to send them will increase to $1 on may 12, so we're safe, but keep in mind when you are deciding when to send yours.

are you waiting for the new stamps to come out?

YES WAITING FOR THE LOVE STAMPS TO COME OUT PRICES GO UP AS OF MAY 12 I KEEP CALLING THE POST OFFICE BUT THEY HAVNT EVEN RECEIVED THEM YET. I CANT STUFF MY ENVELOPES TILL I GET THEM WHICH STINKS
