Yes, you can just take two pill packs back-to-back, skipping the placebos and you'll miss Aunt Flo.

I too am on the pill....

I made sure that this wasn't the case with me by planning my wedding/honeymoon around 'Aunt Flo'.

I have 'Aunt Flo' check... lol... she also come around the same time so I started counting the off weeks and those are the possible wedding dates that we are using when we are going looking for halls.

I might be crazy but I am NOT trying to miss out on the HM or wedding night fun!!!

To answer your question go speak with your doctor.

yes that is true but you might get 'spotting' if you put them together. thats what my doc said. i had to ask.

Yes you can skip the placebos and move on to the pack and miss your period but you may have spotting in between that time. I did this when I had a vacation planned for Aruba. I spotted the whole month. Not really enjoyable. Although my friend also did this and had no problem at all. Nevertheless my gyno told me when I go and see her next year for my annual check-up she will calculate when I should get it and if it is by my wedding then I'll manipulate it then not in July cause of the spotting. So my advice is talk to your doctor.

I have done this, and it works. Here's the thing though: When you do it for the first time, you might get spotting. I know that is what happened to me. So depending on your 'schedule' you may want to try it a few months before your wedding. This way you'll get your spotting over with, and shift everything by a week. Of course, check things with a calendar, because you want to make sure you are clear for the wedding day, and the entire honeymoon.

I did it for prom...a long time ago....but I couldn't have my period for prom!

Skip placebos....I didn't have spotting.

You can also ask your doctor about the new pill that you only have Aunt FLO 4 times a year. that might work too. (It's just like the monthly pill)

My gyno actually said it's healthier NOT to get your period every month. less loss of blood means not losing nutrients we often lose when we have our friend and having more energy.

Girls, I just wanted to add: since I'm on birthcontrol and I am very regular, I am able to put the day Aunt Flo will come every month into my palm pilot. So I know right now that I won't have it on my wedding or during the honeymoon. If you're on a 28 day cycle, you could do that as well, and then you don't need to go to the Dr. to have it calculated for you. Just thought I'd share. I've been doing this for years so that I know right away if Aunt Flo will visit during vacations, etc.

i used to do that by skipping the placebo pills and just starting a new pack. however, the first 2-3 times i did it, i had spotting instead, so just a suggestion, but if you are gettin gmarried in july, start the skipping around feb or march so your body gets used to it.

don't skip your off pills so you won't get AF.....when you should take the empty pills, start a new pack. You may need to start a month in advance, maybe not

i think you are refferring to the pill called seasonale, which allows you to have your period only 4 times a year. only, i am pretty sure you still have to take a pill everyday, not just once a month (although that sure would be nice!). i think its the equivalent to taking regular birth control for four months in a row with no placebos inbetween. i heard the side effects are the same as other oral contraceptives.

i have shifted my period a few days back and fourth by starting my pack of ortho tris earlier/later before. i haven't actually skipped any cycles, though i hear it is safe to do. i would definitely check with your gyno to make sure you can do it with your specific type of oral contraceptives, because there are so many brands with different chemical make-ups! your doctor should be able to tell you if you can do this safely with your pills and exactly how to go about it. good luck!

I talked to my doctor about this and he told me that I could skip the pleacebos and keep taking the regular pills. I started this month so I will not have a problem in August. He said that it will not cause any problems.

I have the same problem. I had it all caculated so i wouldn't get it during the week of my wedding or my honeymoon and all the way i mess it up. 2 months ago i realized that i would be getting the week of my honeymoon. So i called the doc and they said to just skip the sugar pills and take 2 packs back to back. But then i realized that I would have it the week of my wedding so after talking to my doc again, she told me to take3 packs back to back. She told me this was fine to do. So far I'm on my second pack and havve not have any problems.

My doc said you can just stick with the pills you are on and work well with you and just keep taking them without placebos in order to do the same thing as Seasonale. He also said you really don't need to get your period every month and it's perfectly safe not to. I was all for that; did have some spotting though. But you should check with your own doc just to be safe!

You will be skipping whichever are week 4. Though when I went to my dr last week I told her that when I initially did it, I was spotting. So since i have to skip another month she suggested that I take 2 packs at once in this fashion.

week 1, week 1, week 2, week 2, week 3, week 3, week 4
then start a new pack.

She said because on ortho tri there are different amounts of hormones so if you do it this way, you shouldn't spot.
