If you continue the pill instead of taking those sugar pills you should be fine..

because if that is the case, just because you start it now, doesn't mean you won't have it for the wedding. if you are just starting the pill now, it usually takes a month for it to actually prevent pregnancy, so for the first month you must use an alternative method of birth control. during the 1st month, you may have some spotting or you may get your period more than once. this will happen until your body adjusts to the birth control. be aware that birth control may cause some weight gain, so be careful (in regards to fittings)

actually, that's not quite true. just because you keep taking those pills won't garantee that you won't have your period on the wedding. everyone's body is different, and what may work for one may not work for another. if you have trie dit before and it has worked, it might work again. however, befor eyou do this, speak to your doctor first. while i was told doing it once would not mess up your cycles, doing it more than once may or may not cause other problems to occur. you can get all the advise you want from us, but none of us are medical professionals and none of our opinions should be substituted over your OBGYN's. Trust me, your doctor has heard this question a million times before and won't judge you for it.

My friends messed around to not get her period for her sister's wedding so she wasn't puffy and got pregnant because she messed with it. Just becareful and there is no guaruntee your period won't come that day either. If I was aloud to be on BC I would prob do it so I don't get it that day but unfortunatly that isn't an option for me

this is exactly why i told her not to mess with it and speak with your OBGYN first. its not worth the potential consequences. also, if you wre to try skipping your period, you would have to start at least 2- 3 months prior, (this is only if you have already been on the pill, not if you are just starting) because the next month you will still get your period in all likelihood and it won't be till that next month (if your lucky) that you will skip. but again, this is based on several people's experiences and should not be based to form an opinion on what may happen to you.

I did ask my doctor. He said you can't do it too early because your body is on a cycle even with the pills and you can actually catch up and get it even if you're not supposed to. He told me like the month or 2 before to do it, but I would def ask you gyn!

skipping the pill, if you are trying to use this as your main form of birth control is a very bad idea. not only will it seriosuly mess up your cycle and no longer be efffective at its intended purpose, but you should never stop it in between and start again whenever you feel like it. it will be completely ineffective and you should 110% use another form of birth control. It will be like starting your birth control all over again right from the beginning.

Re: aunt flo ... i need help!
Start the Sunday after you start your period. You CAN skip the sugar pills and should not get pregnant. You just can't randomly start and stop taking it. I take a 3 month form of the pill, so I don't take sugar pills for 3 months. I get spoting so my GYN said I could skip a day or two and still be fine. Last month I skipped a whole week, as if I was taking a regular one month long BC because I didn't want to spot again. Just don't start and stop at random! Take it for the full 4 weeks, then go right to the next pack. You may spot, but that's why you should do this in advance. If you skip more than a week you have to start ALL OVER! Wait for your next period and start the next pack the Sunday after it starts. Some people get pregant while on the pill regardless of whether they messed with it. It's 99.9% effective, not 100%. Also, my friend who graduated as an NP and concentrated in women's health said if you're over 150lbs the pill isn't as effective. Not sure if it's just the low dose ones or all of them, but body fat has hormones sooo.....just saying, it's another possibility of why some people get pregnant while on it.
