Australia Honeymoon Thread!

I've noticed a number of people posting questions about Australia so I figured we should start an official thread!

Planning a HM in Australia - lets post and help each other out!

Anyone that has been to Australia - please post any advice here!

Me! leaving Sat June 2nd and can't wait! We will be visiting Sydney and Cairns and then flying t Fiji for 4 FULL days at the Westin!! I can't wait.

Some of the things we'll be doing are:

Sydney:
Harbour Cruise
Blue Mountains
Tour of Opera House

Cairnes:
Catamaran to the Great Barrier Reef where we can snorkel and scuba Dive. Even take a helicopter ride (at an add fee) back to Port douglas

Great idea on starting this thread.

I went on a 17 day trip to Australia for my HM. It was absolutely fantastic.

We went to Sydney, Great Barrier Reef, Ayers Rock, and Melbourne. We put together the hotels and flights ourselves since we used hotel points and frequent flyer miles for some portions.

For anyone going to Sydney - I would highly recommend that you do the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb .

Wish i could go back - there was still lots more to enjoy!

I live in Sydney at the moment. i will be here for another 2 years (hopefully not longer than that). i have posted heaps about australia, but i cant remember what i've posted. i think if you do a search you will find tons of info.

Cairns is awesome. there are a few reefs you can go to that take off from port douglas and the reefs are less touristy than the boats that leave from Cairns. i highly suggest a rainforest tour. I did an all day tour and we went up to the daintree (had some great daintree tea) river and saw lots of crocodiles in the river. we also went up to cape tribulation. dont miss going to the rainforest. if you get a great guide that is nice as well. we had a knowledgeable guide who gave us lots of info. take time to go to a zoo in the rainforest area to see the different types of wildlife in the rainforest. whilst eating our lunch we saw a cassowary out in the wild. what a funny looking and huge bird.

fiji is in the middle of a political coup, but it should be under control by june.

That's great, sorry I have been MIA.... I can no longer sign-on at work..... We used ellen at Uniglobal and she was awesome. So many things that we have seen that we would like to do but have limited time. I can't wait for the HM. I just hope that all the Fijians are finished 'Couping' by the time Mike and I get there... I hear there are still canibals there and we are both chunky!!!

I know exactly what you mean -- there are soo many things to do but not enough time to do it all! We already booked but now that we are going through the travel books figuring out what we want to do and see we have realized just how much we want to do oh well, we can always go back again for an anniversary or something

We are going to the same areas in Australia - Sydney and Cairns...can't wait to hear all about your trip
