avatars galore

What am I doing wrong? I put it on my desktop and then attached the image. But its not on my profile.

your attaching it to the wrong one
there are two pics you can upload
one for your profile and the other for your 'chat avatar'

use the chat avatar
if you click on your profile you will see the pic you just put in

I know. That time I just put it on my message because I was fed up. I wanted to see if that at least worked. I will try the other one.
I check to see if profile picture is there and then when I go to type in a new message,its gone again. Let me try again. Thanks.

where it says bitmap there should be a dropdown to select jpg, sometimes it defaults bitmap
if that doesnt wormk then its a security issue within internet explorer and you have to mess with the settings a bit

Thanks Tommybride, I'll have to give that a try. The only way that I was able to get this avatar was to e-mail it to myself and then upload it.

I will herby bump this post cause it seams some people are still having truble adding avatars. made this thread can help

so everyone read this
its very simple Ill go in steps
1- find an avatar you like
2- save it as a jpg or gif to your desktop
3- click on your 'my profile' button at the top
4- scroll down to where it says 'New Chat Avatar'
5- click the browse button, and browse to the image on your desktop
6- enjoy
there are rules to the avatar though
(Valid image file formats are .GIF and .JPG.
Must 95px by 95px or will be resized automatically.) one minor correction they can be smaller than 95x95 I think 95x95 is the max
