Can anyone give me a vague idea of centerpiece costs? Candles are generally cheaper than flowers, right? I don't want to spend much but I also don't want to sound like an idiot speaking to my florist and saying I want to spend under $30 per table if that is totally unreasonable.

Re: Average centerpiece cost?
I got quoted $70 each for a low cp with 4 hydrangeas. We're probably going to try to do it ourselves to save some money.

Re: Average centerpiece cost?
The high centerpieces I got quoted were anywhere betweem 130-180. This is why I am glad my hall threw in their centerpieces.. an DI have the option to use them if I want to still.. They are the high silk floral arrangements.. They do look like the real thing.. I MAY decide on just saving some money and using the ones the hall throws in.. b/c I am going way over my budget here...

My concern about DIY is who will set them up for you?

flower centerpieces are pricey, i don't think you will find much for under $30. you could def go the candle route for much less, more like $20 each. www.surroundings.com could give you some ideas. i am going to make my own beachy ones, a vase with sand, shells, and candles. much cheaper than flowers. good luck! ~Lacey

We're still trying to figure that part out. Luckily my wedding isn't until 7pm on a Friday so we should be able to get into the hall early that day to setup.

as far as set up, your hall might do it for you. i told my hall i wanted to make my own and they said i just have to drop them off a week ahead and they will take care of it the day of. if you have a DOC she will do it for you no doubt. ~Lacey

Re: Average centerpiece cost?
My reception is at 7 but there is another wedding right before mine and there won't be much set up time. My plan had been to have a bunch of cool wine glasses with those glass beads in the bottom and floating candles but I think that is too much for the hall to set up or at least care about making look okay. Ugh! I can't stand this planning stuff!

Re: Average centerpiece cost?
I recently purchased a bunch of hurricane vases and candles from AC Moore, at a great price. I am going to use those as centerpieces, and ask the florist for rose petals to spread across the table...just trying to cut costs wherever possible! Plus I think it will make the room look so pretty and warm!

Re: Average centerpiece cost?
I am going to have low centerpieces with about 2 dozen gerber daisies. I was quoted for about $50 per table. I wanted to do it myself, but it would probably be too stressful and I am very narotic. Check out AC Moore or Pier 1 for great sales on vases.

Roses and hydranges in a vase with candles around it - $60 each from Flower Michele... REALLY good price!
