It really all depends on how many centerpieces, bouquets etc.

Re: Average cost of flowers

it depends on the number of centerpieces that you need and the kind of flowers you wish to use.

It will depend on what kind of flowers you use and the scope of the job. In season flowers will be less expensive than out of season flowers. Roses are available year-round and are pretty affordable (except around Valentine's Day, when their price is jacked up due to demand). As for centerpieces, low centerpieces are less than high ones.

Here is a list of flowers by season.

Here's a partial list of flower items you may want to consider. Don't take this as gospel.

Ceremony site flowers (altar, pew decorations if in a house of religion; garlands, other decorations if secular)
Centerpieces for reception
Bouquets for bride and BMs
Corsages for mothers and grandmothers
Pomander or petals for flower girl
Petals for aisle (if no flower girl)
Boutonnieres for groom, GMs, fathers, grandfathers, ring bearer
Petals or arrangement for card table
Flowers for cake

ETA--correction.
