Re: average price for RD?
20-30$ pp I think is the average. It depends on how much cash you have if you want open bar or not. I am not, to much $$ My sister didn't either, she served a champagne punch which was good enough. People knew that if they wanted a drink, they would have to pay for it. Please, you giving them enough to drink the following day at the wedding....
I was thinking of having it EXTREMELY casual, like having my mommy cook and doing it at my house, I'm not a fan of drinking and would rather just have alcohol at the wedding and not the rehersal. My FH would love my mom to cook because he loves her food he thinks it is a great idea. Either that or something else pretty casual, I think it is fun but not such a big deal,I just want to give the girls/guys their gifts and thank them for everything. I think it is more personal to do it at home for that reason.

having it at home is a great idea... we just don't have the space... FH & I have a large bridal party and we will have about 40 people at the RD... I found places for around $30 per person which I think it great. FH's parents are paying for it which is great but they are so set on an open bar and I feel it will cost so much more to do that, and I am trying to convince them that its not needed at the RD...

Re: average price for RD?
We are having our RD at Dave & Buster's and I believe with all we added on, it's $28/pp plus we are paying for open bar (based on consumption. soda, tea & coffee are already included).
It also includes game cards for our nieces & nephews. And our rehearsal dinner is more of a family dinner (we originally were not having any kids at the wedding and this was a way to celebrate w/the nieces & nephews) as well as any close OOT guests.

I can't imagine not having alcohol at the RD, but that's just my opinion. Instead of doing open bar, look into just having beer and wine. That's what we're doing because that's what most people will drink with a meal. Our RD is in Westchester, but we're going to be paying about $35 pp.
