Average Prices

Help Im deciding whether or not we can afford a wedding in March 2008 only 6 months away. We have a great great price for our reception but I have no idea what everything else should run us.
Can anybody tell me an average price for things such as florist, dj, photographer (no video) and limo.
Luckily my sister is making my invitations and Im pretty sure about my favors.

Im clueless as to what a limo and everything else will run me.

gosh, it's difficult to give a ballpark of how things run because they vary so much. also depends on wedding size, formality, where you're getting married, etc...

i'll give you a range of what the vendors gave me when i researched them:

flowers: anywhere from $2000-10,000 including cp's, bouquets, boutounieres, etc. more or less depending on whether you want something extravagant or simple.

limos: 1 regular stretch limo about $200-300 for 2-3hrs. prices go up for specialty limos

dj: the lowest i was quoted $700-$1500. i've seen dj's costing even more if they're really popular or you want to add special effects, video montage, etc.

photographer: $3000-5000 should do it.

these prices are quotes given by vendors i've been checking out. other brides can probably share their quotes with you as well. good luck.

i am in the same month

- for flowers at FM i am just doing 10 low table, 2bm, my bq, fg, 2 bm, 2 gm, 1 rb -1k for roses, orchids, bells of ireland, hydrangea

- dj/mc hi energy enter 1k for ceremony - reception

Photos we are doing patken video and photo for under 5k so yours will be less

I was kind of in the same boat, planning a wedding in 7 months...DON'T WORRY!

I found a good Dj with no frills, just music for $475. A photgrapher for $1850 (no video).

There is something out there for your budget and ideas, don't let the time frame scare you.

You can TOTALLY do it. The girls here are so helpful. I know of an amazing photographer who will do your wedding for 1k for 9 hours of shooting.(doesn't include albums but you can TOTALLY make your own album with either shutterfly or my publisher) you can find a dj for 1k and flowers can be done on a budget. You can do centerpieces with candles and rose petals. Simple.

Here is my photographer for the engagement party I had. She has a wedding package for 1k. I would have loved to book her for my own wedding but I already have a photographer!

not sure if you are on a budget, but consider doing a percentage budget....

this lets you know what percentage people typically spend on different vendors. Its kinda crazy to expect that someone doing a wedding for $17000 is going to spend the same on a photog as someone whos budget is twice that.

This way you can figure out what you can afford and see how much bargaining and haggling you gotta do.

ETA:It is possible, you just have to stick with what you know you will have and what is important and not so important to you

it all depends on what you want
if you want a no frills dj prob 500-1600 depending on the dj if you want to add in light shows or snapshots (the take photos of your guest through out the night and put it on screens) maybe you want dancers or even having an MC adds money...it can add up to well over 5k if you do alot of add ons....

photo/video also if you want justt your proofs and the photo shooting all night without any prints or albums it will be less then having albums and partent albums and thank you cards so this is one of those too it all depends on what you want....when do you want them to start also at the ceremony or at your house....

limos depends on what kind you want i just went today and one of the specialty cars the new phantom RR was about 1900 just for that car for 3 hours.....but you can get another limo for 600 for 3 hours

I HAVE LEARNED THAT IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANT AND MOST VENDORS WILL WORK WITH ANY PRICE RANGE.....
