Awesome waves!

Did anyone else have a chance to see the waves on the south shore today? Hurricane Fabian was passing about 500 miles off shore and the waves were huge!

We went out to Neptunes and sat there watching huge curling waves, one after the other. The water was coming all the way up the beach to the storm fences at the base of the stairs.

Too bad I didn't have a video camera. Two guys took beach chairs out to the crest of the sand where the waves washed over. Just got settled to watch the waves when a really big one came along and flipped them over backwards. Definately worth money on Funniest Home Videos.

Dinner at Dockers and a nice drive home with a gorgeous sunset - a perfect way to send off summer. For everyone that thinks western Suffolk is too far it's definately got it's plusses having this so close by.

I heard the waves are gonna be awesome

FH surfs but we live in the middle of jersey so waves are hard to come by (we miss long beach!). he passionately tracks the weather all year long, but in august & september he's a maniac! we can't make any definite plans because he has to be available to go surfing if the conditions are right.

thursday after work he went down the jersey shore to surf. friday morning around 6 am he left for LI, and today & tomorrow he's in rhode island. he's loving it!

so FH came home late last night from RI to surprise me (yay!). today we drove down to spring lake and spent a few hours at the beach. nice waves, but not like yesterday.
