I am going to Jenerations in two weeks and I don't believe I am having them do my makeup. Will it look bad under the studio lights if I do it myself? I'd hate to go through this whole thing to find I look washed out in the pics, but I really can't afford to spend more on this. What do you think?

I think it will be fine if you do it yourself! Practice a little first, and maybe have someone take some photos of you in your DIY makeup in various lighting.
But, I should note that, either way, I DO NOT think your FH will be looking at your make-up!

I think it should be fine, but for me, make-up was important. I don't feel as confident or sexy when I don't have make-up on and I feel even more confident when I have professionally done make-up. Why not look into Sephora? My sister got her make-up done for her prom and it was beautiful and only $50!
ETA: I just feel like it's a once in a lifetime thing so if you're gonna do it, might as well do it up right, KWIM?

The thing is... FH didn't like how my makeup came out after my trial and he really only likes it when I do it. He hates too much makeup... I always fully do my own everyday with eyeliner and everything and I think I do a pretty good job. I'm afraid that if I got it done, he wouldn't like the way it came out. He REALLY didn't like it when I got it done last time. Haha

same with DH...he likes my makeup best when i do it and I wish I had done my own makeup for my bpics...I wasn't happy with mine
if you are confident in your makeup skills, I don't see why not.

I don't wear too much makeup, but I do wear makeup daily. I used Diana at Jenerations and my God what a transformation. It was PERFECT!! She compliments your skin tone and outfits. I was highly impressed and so was my FH. It was once in a lifetime thing and I wanted it to be different and it created that look I wanted.
I would say do what you can afford, and what would be best for you.
