Re: b rett m atthews photography ?
I went and looked at ************* and loved their work. I heard some not so good things about them and that is why I chose not to book with them (Although I LOVE my photographer now). After the fact, I met some people who used them, loved them, and had great pictures. I guess it all depends. There are complaints everywhere. For me, I wanted to work with a smaller company. My gut just told me not to go with them. I might have been influnced by the bad reviews. Good luck!

Re: b rett m atthews photography ?
I booked them without doing my research. They take wonderful pictures & then I read some disturbing posts & I began to get nervous. We just have to hope for the best that our experiance is a good one. If not, I will be posting to make future brides aware.
Tina, will you please posts pics after you get them?- I would love to see more of BM's work. Also, is it really true that BM doesn't allow you to have the DVD of your proofs? TIA

Re: b rett m atthews photography ?
i booked them - they were the first and only photographer i met with. but i HAD done my research and i booked with them despite the bad reviews i had read. when it came down to it i walked into their studio and when i saw their work it was EXACTLY what i want my wedding pictures (and video!!) to look like - so thats what sold them for me. similar to gown shopping - many places have good and bad reviews. i ended up buying my gown at bridal reflections carle place which had its share of bad reviews and that was after going to bridal reflections massapequa and having a pretty bad experience. just keep in mind when reading reviews that everyone has a different experience. if b rett m atthews is the LOOK that you want and in your price range - ignore the reviews. if you're not sure about them - keep looking. when you visit the right photographer you'll know because their work will be exactly what you picture your wedding photos looking like.

this is true but its because they shoot ALL film not digital so its not as easy as just downloading the pics to DVD. each negative has to be scanned off the film individually to really get a good quality DVD. luckily my aunt is in the business and has offered to do this for me at cost. now i just have to call BM and make sure they will actually give (sell) me my negatives and not just the proofs.

The guy interviewed from there said you can have your neagtives FIVE YEARS from the date of the event. He told me they do not allow people to have a DVD b/c they don't want people printing out the pictures themselves. He said then they are inferior quality and they don't want their name associated with photos they didn't print. For me PERSONALLY, this was a deal breaker b/c the cost of reprints from them was higher than most of the other photographers I interviewed. However, I have heard good things about their work.
