I dont know if its just me. But i really dont want to spend alot of money on my dress I think tops 1500. I guess if i fall in love with a dress thats more i dont have a choice but id rather look in the lower priced first. Is that crazy or should i be spending the most on this???

And thats fine. I consider a dress in the 3s to be way to much. I guess because i havent shopped yet i dont really know what to expect in the price area. So i have a tops i want to spend. But wasnt sure if that is considered to low. I guess u kinda answered that its not. COOL!
Edited for another thing! I hope you didnt take offense to my first post. Im just not sure what to expect in prices!

Re: B4 Dress shopping & Prices
that was my budget too.. but i really didnt even wanna spend that much on my dress! i know its my wedding day and (hopefully) i wont ever have another wedding.. but to me it was a piece of clothing that was going to be worn for 10 hours. i just couldnt see spending that much when it came down to it. in the end i fell in love with a dress, and it turned out to be $700 and because i saw it at a trunk show i got another 20% off. so pretty much i got a gorgeous gown for less then half of what i had wanted to spend. i would definitly check out the bridal world in baldwin. they had amazing dresses and none of them where over $1000 i believe.

Re: B4 Dress shopping & Prices
My mom has offered to pay for my dress so I want to keep it under 1000. I've seen nice dresses on the david's bridal website that I like that are under that price range so I think i'm gonna start there. As long as you like the dress and are happy with it it shouldn't matter how inexpensive it is.

My budget was 1,000, which I did...Maggie Victoriana. This was a gift from my mother. Two things to keep in mind: If you are in a budget you also have to pay for the alterations and then the bustle. They are 2 seperate prices. The other thing is always shop around for prices. My dress was a couple of hundred more at alot of other shops. HTH

Re: B4 Dress shopping & Prices
I don't think you are crazy at all. I budgeted a very big amount for RH and photo but I really wanted to get a dress under 2k because I like simple and this is not where I wanted to splurge,. Try not to try on pricey stuff. I unfortunetely did and now I can't get some of them out of my mind. I am paying for the wholw wedding (with FH) so my parents told me to buy any dress I want and it is on them. I still just think it is too much to spend. If you find one for 500 that makes your feel beautiful - it is just as good as any 5K dress (probably better because you can buy a whole honeymoon wardrobe.)
The problem is when you have that 'the dress' feeling in a $$$$ dress!

Re: B4 Dress shopping & Prices
I do think should should set a budget and start out at the lower priced gowns/stores! I went to see gowns at Demetrios and now I dont think I can get myself into davids bridal bleh... I hate that I feel like that... At least I was smart enough not to go into Kleinfelds or something though LOL

Re: B4 Dress shopping & Prices
I think it's great to set a budget and go take a look at the lower priced ones first bc if you go for the most you want to pay right off the bat, you won't consider a dress that costs less.
My mom is paying for my gown, she gave me a budget which is pretty high and we first went to a store that sells gowns below what she's willing to pay and we hated how they looked, so now we know to go a little higher -- we're working our way up until I find what is perfect for me.
Today I'm going to Bridal Reflections again to try more Eve of Milady gowns and next week were going to the wedding salon of Manhasset -- I'm so excited
Good Luck I hope you find your dream dress.

Re: B4 Dress shopping & Prices
honestly i swore i was going to be spend the least on my dress as a percentage of everything else. i ended up buying it for 2600 just because i loved everything about it and couldn't imagine myself in any other dress. even my mother, who is chronically worried about money, didn't want me to leave without buying it!!! i hate how much i spent but i'll never regret it because i love my gown!!!
