I don't want to start trying until a year after the wedding, but I think thats all I am waiting and I might even try sooner, because I am really really concerned that I will have a lot of problems.
aw, don't worry i'm sure it will be fine. FSIL had major problems getting prego and now they have a beautiful baby girl. if you want it bad enough, it will happen.
Thanks, I'm a DES Grand-daughter and most DES daughters couldn't have children so miracles happen, I was one. But it took my mom 9 years to have child so I am kind of scared I am starting 8 years after her. Plus they are finding an increase in uterine cancer among the DES granddaughters so I want to have a kid before they have to do a hysterectomy.
i'm really sorry. i really hope you get what you want. there are so many things available to doctors these days to try to speed up the process or having multiple births which is great cause they didn't have these things when our mothers were tryin to get prego. my mom had a problem getting prego with me and when she did had to be on bed rest cause it was high risk. with everything going on these days and knowing so many people that have a hard time, i myself get scared. my niece's mom tried many times cause one of her tubes is blocked and she had 2 miscarriages, one of them was my niece's twin. but in the end things always work out.

Re: Babies
Thanks. I have been following DES my whole life and they thought the granddaughters were fine, its only recently they started discovering the problems with them, but were child bearing age now. But my mom had a miracle so hoping for one too. But thats why as much as I want to be married a year before trying, I might try sooner.

I'm a DES granddaughter too. The medical advances are amazing now and even with endometriosis and poly cystic ovaries, I am preggo with my third after being told I could concieve when I was only 17.
The most important thing is to always have second opinions and always find the best doctor for your circumstances! Someones else's ob/gyn, just because its good for them, doesn't mean that dr. is good for you! I've been to Drs all over before finding the perfect one. And I still get second opinions if I feel it necessary.
I wish everyone the best of luck!

Re: Babies
well we orginally planned on waiting a year after we got married but now since we've pushed the wedding back a year id like to try right after. I def wouldnt want to wait too long. PLUS i have to get surgery on my uterus before we can try anyway ( i have a septated uterus..pretty hard for me to carry a pregnancy) so i was planning on doing that this summer so we'd be ready by 2010 :)

Re: Babies
FH would be happy with a honey moon baby. I on the other hand told him no babies until after we got to Disney World in June 2010 for the trip my family is planning.

Re: Babies
we already have one, she'll be 5 next August...she wasnt planned but wasnt prevented either lol....so i guess you could say eventually we knew we would end up preggers....the next one iam hoping to have around 28, 29....Our daughter will be 7, 8 by then, i think its a good age...because i want to be done with kids by 30, getting my tubes tied after the 2nd one.
FH wants more then 2, but i only want 2

Re: Babies
1 year after the wedding we are going to start and hope it works out w/o complications. i know so many girls that havent been able to conceive on their own.
so scary!

Re: Babies
Honestly, I would have to finish my degree, get a teaching position, and then get tenure before I even tried to get pregnant. I will be married at 27 (and finsh my degree 5 months later) so I think around 30 I will want to start trying.

we're going to wait 3-4 years before having kids. i still need to get my cpa and establish my career a lil more and FH is so not ready yet. we also want to have a house first and be settled in a lil bit before we have kids.
Good luck with the CPA exam!!! It is such a huge accomplishment. I cried when I passed my last part. Such a relief!
