Babies After 40

Babies After 40

I noticed that a bunch of you were discussing your biological clocks and the possibility of conceiving as you get older. They do say that you are less fertile as you get older. I first got pregnant when I was 39 years old after trying only once. I did lose the baby and tried again after 3 months, as per doctor's instructions. Again I got pregnant the first time. I was 40 by then. So, for me, there was no problem conceiving. I also know people who are much younger who have problems conceiving, so who knows why it is? I also wanted to touch on one thing that none of you seemed to mention. After the age of 35 years, the risk of Down's Syndrome and chromosonal abnormalities rises each year. So this is something you also have to consider. I now have an adorable 5 month old baby and will be trying to conceive again in a couple of months, so I'm hoping to have luck conceiving very quickly and, of course, that the baby will be healthy. So, good luck to all of you. I hope you all make the right decisions for yourselves.
