Does everyone get the freakin' baby comments...

Last night..FMIL gave me a coupon for an enlargement photo at Staples, she says we can use it for our baby's christening to blow up a photo of our child.

Grandma and Grandpa who are 72 and 73 (young, in my oinion): 'Danielle, how soon after the wedding are you going to have a baby?'

Danielle: 'I don't know, definitely not in the first two years... we want to buy a house and be settled first.'

G&G (in a disappointed tone): 'Well, just so you know, we'd like to see great-granchildren before we die, so maybe you shouldn't wit that long.'



guilt much?

fh is 30 and I am turning 30- so my fmil says- you two are not getting any younger- when am I going to get a grandchild.

i was like ask again, and the answer will be never

I get the sameeeeeeee thing from my grandparents..granted my grandmothers are well into their 80s (but look and feel very young, and healthy) I always get ' Dana, you made your wedding so far away and you think i'm going to hold off another year or 2 AFTER that for you to have kids..I'm going to be dead by then'

k great!!! grrrr

My FMIL who I love to death . But ALWAYS has all the right remedies to cure my sons Colds ... She lives in FL So she will call 100 times a day asking me If i tried this or that .....

Whenever FFIL is hold one of his nieces/nephews babies he feels the need to tell me 'hurry up and have a baby'

He also warned me that he will be over a lot once i do finally have a baby..... I am going to have to be like Ray Romano's wife in 'everyone loves raymond' and close the lights and make believe no one is home

I am jking.... i love my Inlaws..... but the baby market is closed and will not open for at least 1 year after the wedding!!

There was a report that I watched with FMIL about how dairy helps you get pregnant faster---she keeps telling me to eat all dairy
My other FMIL (step) always guilts us about how we should visit them now, cause if we have kids right away, then we won't go and visit them up where they are
My mother will not let me move out of the town we are in now, cause she wants us to be close when we have kids---ummm hello, you guys have a few years for this
ohhhhh--and they all want to move in with me for a least a week at a time when we have kids---if that is the offer--I am not having them anytime soon

I totally didn't understand what you said the first time I read this, I'm not sure wat the heck I was thinking. I thought you were p issed that she said 'our' baby lol ...

But we defiantly get the guilt talks from our entire family. My grandma likes to tell me that I better get a move on since I will be the last hope for her to see a great grandchild... does she still understand that I'm still only 20?

the best ones were always made BEFORE we got engaged...I remember several people telling me they didn't care if i got married, to just have some kids.



The 'Guilt-Tripping Grandparent' is always my favorite tho.....what are you supposed to say to something so final as 'have a kid before I die'.

oh please dont get me started

FH told FIL that we have no plans anytime in the near or far future to have kids and his dad said that we shouldnt even get married then bc it was pointless

geez i thought we were getting married bc we were in love and wanted to be together for the rest of our lives not to procreate like cattle. . . guess i was wrong.

nobody has made any baby comments yet....i get the opposite.....

i called my sister last weekend to tell her that i think i found my wedding dress - so i tell her to tell my mom that she has to call me and not to tell my mom b/c i want it to be a surprise.....so my sister is 16 and blows it out of proportion and tells my mom that i have this big secret.....so my mom tries to get my sister to tell - but she wont.....so my mom calls me and says 'you better not be having a baby - i'll kill you' in like a joking laughing voice.....so i said Nooooooooo and then her other guesses were that i was visiting her OR that i found a wedding dress

she knows that we really want to wait until we are older and that a kid would totally F up our plans but she is too much! she hopes that i dont get pregnant just as much as i do!

My comments come from FH.

He keeps telling me he wants 4 in 4 years!!!!!! I told him that I will become a baby machine when he hits the lotto and I know we don't ever have to worry about money! He also thinks I should be pregnant before the wedding -- I told him I control the pill I take and I will enjoy our HM but whatever happens after that is in God's hands!

it's funny because my mom knows we don't want to have kids right away. we want to make sure we are financially stable before we start trying. and just recently my mom has started commenting about me having a baby. i told her she has to prob wait about 3 yrs or so after we get married. especially since i want to try to get tenured before i can have a baby. sooo recently she gets all upset and says 'well all my kids are going to be out of the house i need someoneto keep me young' and that 'she needs grandchildren soon to spoil since we are all getting older and snotty'




but fil's are definitely not suggesting we make any babies anytime soon. they would prob be more upset than i would be if i found out i was pregnant before my wedding haha. they think fh;s older brother is too young to start trying and he is 31. YEAH FH's PARENTS are CRAZY!!!!!!!!!

when i went with my mom to fortunoff for my registry and as we were passing by baby fortunoff, she turns to me and says..we can come here to do the registry for your baby shower....i told her, let me get past the wedding and when i get pregnant we'll figure it out.

she already has 2 grandchildren (both boys) i think she wants a granddaughter
