Went for level II sono on friday. There on the monitor was my little one with the cord between its legs and its legs crossed-its arms were over its head. Was I ever going to find out the babys sex?? Than the tech got a diff view and said what she thought it was and when the dr came in she also thought it was a........

Than they found something. The cord is suppose to attach from the baby to the middle of the placenta. Mine is attached at the end right by my cervix. Its called Vasa Previa. As of right now all the major blood vessels in the cord are located there. If thats the case than I would need a c-section. When the cervix dilates , the vessels can tear, causing rapid fetal haemorrhage. Its really scary and I have to stop reading about it online. Im really glad that they diagnosed it prenatally. This is something new that they just started looking for because of the number of deaths associated with this. Im going back in a few weeks to see if it has moved (it can move as the uterus grows) so please
I should add--The dr said everything else with the baby is fine. Its 12 oz right where its suppose to be
Edit, because I responded before reading the whole thing. Thank god they caught it early! I'm sure everything will be just fine

Definitely stop reading about the other thing online... everytime I do that when I think there is something wrong with me I spend the next two weeks convinced it's the end for me... WebMD is the devil.

Definitely stop reading online. They caught it early and that's the most important thing, and if it doesn't move, then you get to schedule a section and choose your little one's birthday!!!
