Baby Bjorn?
I'm trying to research as much as possible before I register....who uses the Baby Bjorn? Is it actually more comfortable or is it annoying that you have this baby attached to you at all times?
Does your DH wear one too, or do you mainly use it?

Re: Baby Bjorn?
I'm searching for a new carrier and was wondering about this carrier too...Stay away from the snugli grow-with-me carrier... not comfy!
Edited to add: I thought it would be annoying to 'wear' baby all the time. But it definitley makes walks or simple chores easy when baby is calm and close to you... I actually love the carriers... just trying to find one that doesn't hurt too much...

Re: Baby Bjorn?
We have one, but I never get to use it because Nicolas hates it.
I'm going to try it again when he can face forward. I think he'll like it better then.
Patrick would wear it too, if only Nicolas would let us use it.

That doesn't really surprise me - I think I'd hate it too! I saw an ad of one and the baby looked like he'd be sufficating in his mom's breasts!
sn00k - when would be a good time to use these, and not need the stroller? I'm just imagining doing errands or something but the stroller is also convenient for you too as storage and such....so I wonder what would be easier.

Re: Baby Bjorn?
Last week when it was warm, Madeleine and I went for long walks. I don't like the carriage because it just seems so big and bulky.I like to get around really simply, so strapping her on to me and going is the easiest way for me to go. I live in the Bronx in an apartment buiding... even though the building has an elevator, there are 4 steps that lead outside, so it's easier for me to wear her rather than struggle with that darn carriage.
I also wore her to church and will probably do the same when I go food shopping by myself.

Jennifer - that's a great point! Maybe I will add it to my registry for those occasions when a stroller will just be too much of a PITA!Thanks everyone!

Re: Baby Bjorn?
Teri I am able to use my Bjorn around the house once in a while. When Sophia is feeling sassy and not hysterical! It really has helped to get some work done with two hands...sometimes she likes it sometimes not. I havent' tried taking her :out: in it, but plan to when the weather warms up and we can go for walks. I would register for it - you never know.....

Re: Baby Bjorn?
Wanted to add: I planned to add this to my registry over the weekend until I saw the price tag!
I thought they were about $30 or so....more like $90-$120!I have no idea if we'll even need this so we decided to hold off for now...worst case we'll buy it on our own

Re: Baby Bjorn?
I had a sling and Molly hated it, although I was really excited to use it.then I returned the sling for a snugli soft thing and she likes it. But we don't use it very often, although when I have wore it she falls asleep.

I saw a lady at the mall yesterday woth the Over the Shoulder sling - I stopped her and she said she loves it. her baby was 3 months - she said it's great. She was walking around the mall totally hands free!

Re: Baby Bjorn?
I used both a Bjorn and a sling. I got lots of use out of them, since Lyla needed to be held a lot early on. She hated her stroller the first several months, so DH and I alwasy wore it out. I also used it in the house a lot. I don't use it much now, since she's getting heavier. The thing is that as soon as she gained head control (3 months or so) I faced her forward, and she LOVED that.

Re: Baby Bjorn?
This week the BJorn is the only place Connor will nap when we are home. I think he likes being so close to me.
