I was just wonderingif anyone is having their baby's furniture given as a gift. My mother in law is buying it. She likes one thing that I am not crazy about, but I feel that since she is buying it, I don't have much say. Even though I am not buying it myself, should I be able to choose????

Re: Baby Furniture
That is the exact reason we are trying to keep my MIL out of that kind of stuff. She wasen't nice with the wedding so I don't expect much help or want it now. She has already offerred SUGGESTIONS with alot of things, we think she thinks its her baby.
-she wouldn't find out the sex -she wouldn't do certain tests -we should pick a family name
My parents are buying us the nursery furniture. My mom and I luckily have the same taste so I don't foresee a problem.
But IMO she is offering to buy it as a gift then it should be what you register for.
Is she was paying for a wedding dress for you would she pick it?
I can understand her giving you a range or a few choices to pick from like 3 or 4.. but not only one.

I don't think she should pick out the furniture at all! It is for your baby.....

Your baby - you pick! That's my opinion. Its nice they are buying it, but IMO you should pick it out.

Re: Baby Furniture
My mom offered to buy the furniture too. I pre- shopped with my DH and then took mom back and said these were the sets we liked. I tolsd her my top choice, asked for her input and then ultimately picked what my DH and I liked best. It's your baby and your first time decorating the nursey. Good luck!
