Baby in NYC?????

We might be having a baby (I haven't had the guts to take a test yet ) .

Is anyone here having a baby in NYC or have one in NYC. We're terrified of the costs (we've only been married 2 years and haven't had a chance to save a ton...). We're wondering how you juggle rent/mortgage, baby costs, pre-school, etc.

We're planning to stay in Brooklyn, but wondering if it's possible....we won't move to LI, but maybe upstate (Orange County?) if we must...but we really like the city...

Anyone else in or been in my boat?

I'm not, but I just wanted to say believe it or not things will work themselves out. You can do it! Sometimes we have to struggle etc.. but you will get through.

Anyway, take a test! You should start taking prenatals even if you're thinking of TTCing in the future. It cant hurt. I'm also 2 weeks late but mine are coming up negative. I have a doc apt Tues.

any other suggestions? I'm the first of my friends to be having a baby, and none of either of our families have done it in NYC...any other suggestions?
