Re: baby massage question
I use to give Lukie his massage at night with the lavendar lotion, the J&J or the Baby Magic is what I always used. You're not really supposed to use oil on babies.

ETA: Funny story
My Aunt when she first had my cousin was a nervous nelly about everything and after giving her a bath she decided to put baby oil on her. She put so much on that she couldn't pick her up and she kept sliding out of her grip She called my Mom up hysterical so my Mom had to go over and help wipe my cousin off My Mom still teases my Aunt and this was 37 years ago!!

Re: baby massage question
why is oil so bad? just curious because it's pretty common with indians to massage babies with baby oil.

Re: baby massage question
Because if the baby swallows it, it can asphyxiate them.

I use good ol' Johnson's, but after all the good press on Aveeno, I think I'm going to switch!

We like the Gerber baby lotion in Baby berry scent. Well... when I say we, I really mean me!

It's not if the baby swallows it, although I'm sure that's harmful too....but, it's actually deadly if the baby aspirates (breathes it in through their nose) oil...it will coat the inside of their lungs and suffocate them...

Re: baby massage question
I got a baby massage kit at my shower and can't wait to use it. The lotion was definetly lavender, but no oils were in there. Now I know why... Never knew that about the oil, thanks for the helpful tip...

My friend and FSIL massage their babies right out of the bath...they just use baby lotion.
