I was reading posts from a pregnancy board and the women were talking about giving the shower hostess a gift? I've never heard fo this before. My sister gave me a bridal shower and I didn't give her a gift, was I supposed to? She will also be giving me a surprise baby shower (possibly with my SIL), so should I give them a gift for hosting it? This is new to me.

Re: Baby Shower
Karen - LOL!
Two friends of mine in CA threw me a baby shower b/c I could not travel back to NY to have one with my family and friends here. It was very small, but large on generosity and love. I gave each of them a beautiful card, thanking them for all their love and friendship, along w/two bouquets of spring flowers. Nothing too extravagant, but I wanted them both to know how much it meant to me.
However, I don't think it's a requirement...

Re: Baby Shower
It's very nice if you want to but I don't think it's necessary. My shower was thrown by my SIL's who did an amazing job but it's a back and forth thing, we do lots of things for each other, showers, kids parties, etc. but I really nice heartfelt thank you card is in order.
