BABY SHOWER HELP!

BABY SHOWER HELP!

The grandparents (my parents and my BIL parents) and his brother and I are purchasing the entire bedroom set for my sisters baby! Obviously, we aren't going to bring it to the shower, we will just put a picture in a picture frame of the bedroom set and say it was a purchase from us.......

I feel awkward not giving my sister anything to open at her shower, eventhough the freakin furniture is costing a FORTUNE..........

I wanted to make a basket....any ideas? I was thinking of a 'bath' basket, but I don't want to purchase all the bath things from the registry.......

Then I was thinking of an 'essentials' basket; bottles, bibs, pacifiers, etc......but eh........im not sure if I want to tdo that........

Any other cute themed baskets you guys could suggest I make for her???

THANK YOU!

Re: BABY SHOWER HELP!

why not do a mix of everything..... pacifiers, bibs, formula, socks, clothing, blankets, wash cloths, wipes, cute accessories (like headbands or hats), some juicy couture baby stuff (they have at century21 for a lot cheaper)... just a mix of all kinds of goodies!

coming from someone who has 2 nieces & 1 nephew, you will end up sending a fortune on this baby during your lifetime.

do an essentials basket.
bibs, baby lotion, shampoo, cream, travel pack of wipes, pacieis, cute socks, etc,

or since the kid will live in onesies for a while a basket of those could be very useful.

I would do a mix of everything and get some things that are not on her registry, I did that for my bff I made a basket of all the essentials she would need along with bath things and toys....some from the registry and some that were not (she loved everything and with babies they need everything they get!)

Re: BABY SHOWER HELP!

I was thinking of also buying her a diaper bag and filling that up, instead of a basket?

Re: BABY SHOWER HELP!

how about instead of baby stuff... you give her a gift certificate to go get a mani/pedi and a certificate from you saying 'mom afternoon out, call me and i'll watch the youngster while you chill out for a few hours.'

i promise. she will be MORE THAN appreciative that you give her that and i mean even if you dont get her anythign extra... you guys are helping do the shower plus all the bedroom stuff.

you're good.

Diaper cake! My mom made one for me to give at the last baby shower I went to. She got the instructions for it on youtube I believe. I don't have access at work otherwise I'd send it over to you. Diapers and accessories all cost about $30.

I second this idea!! You could also give her a bassinet and fill it with goodies. If you buy $150 worth of baby layette clothes at the Bloomingdales at Roosevelt Field Mall you will get a free bassinet!!

I wish I had gotten something like that at my baby shower!!
