Well, I am pregnant and my mom is planning a shower for me. Here is the kicker, my step-mother had a baby 6 months ago and wants to have her babies naming (Jewish ceremony) the same weekend as my shower! PLUS she wants to throw her sister and engagement party the same weekend! She wants to have ALL # events the same weekend so that her sister can come to all 3 (hse is from out of town.) Needless to say I think its nuts and my mom just won't do it! But this is causing friction and arguing between me, my mom, step-mother and father. I feel like my baby shower is ruined before it ever happened! I don't know what to do! Any advice???

wow, that is nuts!! I would say as long as your shower is the only event that day it may just work out!

Thats ridiculous a first baby is soo exciting and you want that day for yourself. I know after my first baby shower I just looked at all my stuff and was like WOW. You should tell her that you don't want and plus don't feel up to having all these parties all weekend and want your baby shower seperate. I am almost 8months with my second and I know that I couldn't handle running around all weekend to parties. Good luck to you.

I would gently say that you just don't have the energy for all three parties in one weekend so you'll only be attending your shower.
