Frankie and I were having this discussion last night and who pays for them?
He insists the Matron of honor does I told him this has NOTHING to do with the wedding and that the Grandparents or Godparents do.
Anyone have an opinion?

My mom and my MIL paid for mine. I don't think there is any specific person who usually does.

I definately think it's the grandmothers/grandparents. I agree that the Matron of Honor doesn't have anything to do with it...

I didn't have a Matron of honor since I was one of the first to get married and I think if my MOH had to host it she would go insane since she is freaking out that she isn't even in a serious realtionship.
Grandma's and Aunts are hosting it.

My mom paid for mine. I threw my SIL hers. MOH has nothing to do with baby showers, unless of course they want to be involved.

Thank you!! I think my MOH would have had a heartattack if Frankie ever said to her something about throwing the baby shower. I am glad it is DH that is losing it and not me!

I never heard of a MOH having anything to do with throwing a baby shower...unless of course she offered to help out/throw it (maybe no family to do so) or she was a close family member. In my family, it is always done by the mom or immediate family or of the woman having the baby (like mom, sister, godmother/aunt, etc. My mom is planning mine.

My mom and stepmother paid for both my bridal shower and my baby shower. My MIL never offered to even help with either. In fact, none of DH's family (other than his mother and one of his sisters even came to my showers)....the MOH is NOT responsible for a baby shower.

I agree with everyone above.. the MOH has nothing to do with it..unless she also happened to be the babys godmother... AND wanted to help contribute..
My sister (alex's godmother) and my mother paid for the majority, and my MIL contributed a lot...
