So.... I would say that in the past year I have been fighting really hard to convince myself that I DON'T want any kids. Any time somebody asks if I have kids I always act happy that I don't have any, and even go on to say how annoying I think they are. lol. FH knows deep down I really want them. I noticed that ever since we got engaged all he does is talk about how cute kids are. I ignore him and tell him that they are annoying. He just laughs. He doesnt bring up kids to bother me. I think he genuinely likes them and really wants to have them.... only not any time soon. He has also been putting his hands on my belly A LOT !!! Which REALLY bothers me... especially when he says 'our baby is going to grow here...'
At times I wonder if I have purposely kept myself away from kids. I dont hang out w. my friends and their babies, I dont visit my godaughter, and I dont drool all over myself when I see a cute baby.
I know he gets a kick out of it, but now it's beg. to bother me b.c I noticed that the past 2 months every time I start a new BC pack, I get a little depressed. I really hate taking my BC. I get scared sometimes that when we are ready to have kids...I might not be able to get pregnant or have some difficulty. It's also a reminder that I won't be getting pregnant any time soon. Which then gets me thinking about 'when' is the right time? Financially speaking at least 2 years should be a good time. But 2 years seems like forever....

Yes I do. But I 'act' like I dont, this way I dont think about it. But FH keeps mentioning it, so now I'm beg. to think about it again.
I know it sounds silly , but it's kind of a big deal to me. I'm just being a little sensitive today and needed to vent.

Re: Baby talk
FH is always touching my belly and saying annoying things about babies. But I'm the total opposite and definitly don't want kids right now or possibly not ever! His son lives with us and is a really big handful, so it kinda soured the thought of having my own kids.

i think that this is common for women to put it off as they dont want kids, bc they are scared of how they will be as mothers...i am the complete opposite and ask my BF (not FH again...yet) if we can have kids, to which he replies no.
maybe you are conflicted bc you are a teacher(i think) and you see bad students and are nervous...
hope you are doing better today

I think you should definitely have children with FH. It is the greatest testimony of your love to create a child together. There is nothing else in the world that makes you more complete than having a child with the love of your life. There is no greater joy, no greater love than that shared between a Mother and her Child. You will know when the time is right! Keep your chin up! I think you already know what you want!!

I'm not sure if I am the only one seeing the obvious here, but maybe you should stop denying that you want kids? Just because you say out loud you want kids doesn't mean they are just going to happen. I love kids and I can't wait to have one (more and more lately I keep thinking about how much I want one) but I know that we are not ready, and won't be for at least 5 years. It's a long time away, but we just have so many things we need to do to get prepared for one (academically/financially/emotionally/etc.).
Two years will fly by, especially since you will be planning a wedding in that time. When you decide to go off birth control you shouldn't have a problem conceiving in fact you will be a lot more fertile(BCPs have come a long way since the older versions, and even those had a small risk of having problems).
And just think, by the time you get married, two years will almost be up and you can probably start thinking about kids around the time of your honey moon!

Ok...so I'm not a mother yet but I think I know that there is never a 'right' time. There may be a better time, like when, you have the room to put a kid and all the stuff that comes along with them. (We have a one bedroom apartment right now and couldn't fit another thing in it! But let's say it happened...then you'd make it work.) What's really important is that before you marry the man of your dreams you talk about what you both want...If you really don't want kids and he does...this could lead to bad times.... If you both want kids then once you guys get married you may want to start planning... Just remember that there is always going to be something to stop you from doing it...but remember that you CAN do it!!

the two years will fly by and before you know it you'll be prego!
i want kids so badly but it's the completely wrong time in my life and i don't want kids unless we're financially prepared for them and have a house.
