That's what my mom keeps saying. Jokingly of course! I feel so bad. We still don't have a name for him yet. The only one we both kind of like is Carter. I want to have 2 full names picked out so we can then choose 1 at the hospital. Anyone else having trouble picking a name?

Re: Baby... 'What's his name...'
please - this is the story of my life. I feel terrible that Baby doesn't have a name. My mom calls her Little It. My husband calls her Baby. I call her Baby as well....I am going to try Michele's trick of calling the baby something for a week, and then changing it, and seeing how I feel.
We are at a standstill on Isabella Margaret and Amelia Margaret. My only stall on Isabella is how common it's become. I was almost 99.5% and then our Lamaze teacher said - 'I have to run home after class. My 6 week old Isabella is giving Daddy a hard time...' I realized in that moment how many little Isabella's there will be.....
I guess I'll try the name game of Michele's, and then just hope for the best on delivery date! Do you have any ideas for a second choice?

Well, I have a few, but DH doesn't like them. I've posted them before, but here they are again!

Re: Baby... 'What's his name...'
Melissa, in my experience so far with this...if your husband doesn't like it...forget it. Seriously - you'll never name the baby something your husband has said he doesn't like. My all time favorite name from a little little girl was Lola. I always knew I would name my baby Lola. And my husband just doesn't like it. For months I said - ya know what I love it and I am naming her that - you'll get used to it , etc. But then I think about the two of us standing there when she is laid on my belly and I think - how could I ever do that. We have to be in agreement and reach a compromise.
Maybe for Baby #2 - I will be a little more selfish! (believe me - if Baby #2 is a girl she's Lola end of story) , but the first...I don't know...I just feel like it's one of the few ways for him to experience this along with me and naming her is just the first step in a lifetime of the two of us having to deliberate over her and compromise on rules and upbringing and so on.

I feel the same way... It just feels like we'll never agree on anything! Our baby will end up with something we both don't want. Here in NC, it's a law that you have to have your baby named within 24 hours of giving birth. Some insurance thing. No pressure or anything!

So far we have been pretty lucky. We have the girls names all picked out and agreed on...but boys are a different story. Chris wants and Italian name for both a boy and girl and I agreed on the girls but boy is a different story. To top it off, last time we saw my FIL, he reminded us that we are *supposed* to name our first son after him! Talk about pressure!!

Not that I am preggo yet but DH and I discuss what we would like to name a future baby. We can not agree on anything!! It is going to be so hard once I am preggo and we need to have a name. Since I hate secrets we will find out the sex of the baby. Once we know we will then have to pick a name.

Well not pregnant right now, but both DH have agreed on a boys name...Aiden. We can't agree on a girls name. I love Maricella or Marisol...DH hates it. All his family are from london and they have a hard time saying my name...Maria Elena Hopefully we have a boy.

Aiden is one of my favorites... I'm trying to get my DH to like it. Well, it's not that he doesn't like it, he's not sure. I thought it would be cute and definitely different. My DH name is Ian William, I thought Aiden William would be really nice! We'll see!

I agree with whoever said you both have to like the name. I was trying to sell my DH on a girls name when I was preggo with Luke that he hated, I knew it would never happen that Im not even suggesting it this time around. We luckily both loved the name Luke right off the bat. Thank God we didnt have a girl, we could not agree.
I love the name Aidan too. It was breifly another boys name we talked about when I was preggo the first time. I brought it up now and DH says no. I dont know if its a firm no or not. I thought he liked it, especially since hes the Irish one. We are actually considering Melissa as one of our girl names but we still have alot of time.
I like the name Carter alot. What middle name would you use?

I'm not sure... Maybe Carter William, Carter Thomas... William is my DH middle name, and Thomas is my Man of Honor's name. I don't know... too many decisions!

We have no name for our little 'sacco' - that's what we call him now because he was just a little sac when we first saw him on the ultrasound. We barely even discuss names because we just can't find anything we both like. Most recently we came to one name but his cousin named their son that and I feel like it might be weird- although they live in Boston and we never see them. We never even met the little boy and he's at least 5 years old. What do you guys think?

Jenny and Melissa, Steve wasn't too keen on Damien but I played the I'm so uncomfortable, sick card and I won and when his name was set some of his family tried to talk him out of it. Hello you had your kids and got to name them what you want it's my turn!

Re: Baby... 'What's his name...'
scott and I could not find too many boy names that we both agreed on and now I know why...because I was having a girl But I think Carter is a nice name Melissa.
For a girl we had a few names that we both liked and then from the sky, out of the blue, Molly came to me. DH loved it the minute I got home and told him the story. So maybe, just maybe a little birdie will whisper a name in your ear that you will fall in love with!
And, yes, I kept calling the baby different names until one just 'fit'.
