Baby Wipes Warmer

Baby Wipes Warmer

I got an electric baby wipes warmer as a shower gift. I have been told it's really nice to have, but I'm wondering if I should return it. Am I totally overdoing it by having one of these? I know it's not a necessity and now I'm thinking it will be summer, and who knows if the baby's bottom will really be cold if I use wipes that are not in a warmer. Also, if the baby gets used to it, what about when we are out and the wipes are cold??

Anyone have opinions on this??

I know my friend just went out and bought one. She said everytime the wipes touch her baby he cries b/c they are so cold. She said she is so glad she got the warmer b/c it broke her heart to see him cry from the cold wipes.

I would say keep it.

I remember Claud telling me it was a total waste for a few reasons. a) it dries out your wipes so you end up wasting some of them and b)if your child is only used to the warm wipes and you are not home to change him/her you now have a problem. So I am not going to get one of these. Again, this is based on my friends who have child but it makes sense to me. I need to be able to change the baby at home, at my parents, in a car if I have to and I doubt the wipes will always be cozy, warm.

IMO - waste of $$$. I've had several BTDT moms tell me they're sorry they bought/got them!

IMO- was told they are a waste...same reasons as stated abv...they dry out the wipes.
if you need to warm up a wipe, just put it in your hands, clasp them closed and blow into them. It warms them up fine.
Of course tho, u have to contend with a baby

I love my wipes warmer!!!!!! I have the one that wraps around the tub. I was away this past weekend and used regular wipes (no wipes warmer) on Emma and I felt AWFUL because they were cold. I held them in my hands to get them warmer. If you leave the top off the wipes the one sticking out dries out. I havent had the problem with them turning brown yet.

I had one on my registry, got it but I ultimately returned it. It dries out the wipes is what I heard. The instructions said to add water to keep them moist. It also said that sometimes the wipes get yellowed but they are fine to use. OK....I knew I was not using yellowed wipes on my baby's butt! I never found the wipes terribly cold, I changed his diapers all winter and he never flinched. If you put them between your palms for a few moments, it will take the chill off.

It sounds like it's a personal perference thing though since some of the ladies love them.

Keep the box & plastic wrapperd from inside. If you use it and hate it, BRU & BBB will take them back.

return it, buy something more useful. theres NOOOO NEED for it, especially with summer coming like you said.
