Babysitter?

Babysitter?

Those of you that are allowing children... Is anyone considering hiring a babysitter for the reception? We have about 5 kids under 10 and they are very 'energetic'.

FH's sister had a babysitter at her weddings. she hired someone to sit in the bridal suite with all the children when they were sleeping and just to pccupy them

We don't have a babysitter, but we should look into it.

Re: Babysitter?

My FH's father is remarried and has small children. I thought that it may be a good idea, since it would let his father and stepmother really enjoy the wedding. I saw something in a magazine about creating special favors for kids in like lunchboxes. Just little things to keep them occupied. Is anyone doing special favors for children?

We plan on having 2 babysitters. 1 for the smaller childen who might need a nap..and can stay in the bridal suite. And the other one for the older kids (5-11) just to make sure they stay out of trouble...My sister is a HS math teacher...so she is going to recruit 2 of her students for this task.

That's such a good idea luvs! Are you getting married at night?

Re: Babysitter?

No...we are getting married in the afternoon...but we will have a few little ones. My neice will only be about 10mos at that time...so if she can stay in the bridal suite my brother and SIL can have a good time. I wanted to have all my little cousins at the wedding. I think we will have about 4-5 kids under the age of 3 and then about 5-6 kids over the age of 5...

ETS: I didn't feel like starting WW3 in the family so I included all the kids. To me, it wasn't worth the hassel of arguing or explaining why I didn't want children. So...this was my compromise. FH has a daughter (he was married before), so since she will be there...everyone else can have their kids there if they want...or they can leave them home. This way, they have a choice.

We were going to, and I actually decided against it the week before the wedding... Turns out the parents had more fun dancing with the kids than I think they would have if their children werent pulling them up every other song!! (the ages were from one to 7)

We are going to have a friends daughter watch the kids, this way if the parents want a 'Time Out' they get one, if not they can spend the evening with their little ones.

I think that it is a great idea just to give the parents a break. I just wonder if they will actually stay with a new babysitter with their parents so close by...

We are. There will be a 6, 5, and 4 year old. We figure that the babysitter will eventually take the kids to the suite upstairs to sleep if they get tired.

we are having a large amount of children at our wedding and we are hiring a team of babysitters - we are using the second floor near the piano(miller place inn) to keep the kids and the craft projects and coloring books etc for them - we figure they can come down if they want but having them in that little room they have up there will give them their own space where they can just do whatever they want - we ordered all kinds of craft kits from oriental trading company for them to do - should be fun
