has anyone had to book services for children who may need to be asleep before the end of the wedding? this is tough as anyone i'd think to ask will most likely be in attendance at my wedding. do some venues offer this, or have a list of recommended contacts?

Re: babysitting services
My cousin is using a really good babysitter at her wedding. I can send you her info. I'm a youth director in a church so I made sure that the girl was a good sitter because I know how important it is to have reputable people watching kids.
You could try a babysitter site too, like sittercity or care.com.

Our ring bearer will be almost 3 and he will definitely be falling asleep during our party. We are planning on having my cousin's wife's sister (the boy's aunt on the other side) come and watch him either at the RH or take him back to the hotel. Try getting someone on the other side of the family (not related).

yeah this will be hard since most of our family isnt local to the area. we have folks coming in from az, ca, mass, and pa. and im sure anyone that is local to them wont be tagging along....thanks for the thought though...*sigh*

Aww well maybe you can reach out to some of your friends and see if any of them could recommend a babysitter to you that they use or they know people have used...just a thought! Maybe reach out to your RH as well - I'm sure you're not the first person with this dilemma. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat.
FH's kids (ages 2 and 4) will most likely be in BP or attending so I had the same thought. He can't 'play daddy' that whole day/night, so we were thinking about hiring someone to be responsible for them. It will also allow the rest of his family to have a better time because they won't have to worry about them.

Re: babysitting services
idk if this helps you, but I babysit and I have a few friends who may be interested in sitting as well. We are all teachers now but met from working at a daycare center in college.
For ideas, I have babysat at weddings where i 1) was placed at a kids table in ballroom and kept them entertained with crafts, activities and table games. (very challenging bc the kids saw their parents, or parents kept coming to table) 2) had the kids in the bridal suite, so parents brought the kids in, visited or brought the kids into ballroom whenever they wanted 3) stayed at a local hotel room with the kids
reach out to people that you know who could recommend a trustworthy sitter! idk about sites--i'm sure they are fine but that worries me!

Maybe you can ask some of the parents of the kids that will be attending if they have a nanny or babysitter they trust who would be willing to work the wedding. That way you know it is someone good who at least some of the parents already know.
